Danika’s POV. - “To bring you to our little prince.” The mermaid Fae begins to swim in the opposite direction, urging us on our feet and hurrying after her on the shore. As we follow her lead, I marvel at the new company that joins us, about ten other mermaids surface in the water, following behind the mermaid we just met. And together, setting the glorious night air alight, they sing the same melodious song she had sung after discovering my identity.

Then, taking a deep breath, she began to sing—softly, barely a whisper, yet the melody gently pierced the stillness of the night: > "Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are..." Her voice was faint, but every word was filled with love. The voice of a mother. The voice that once soothed a little girl afraid of the dark and thunder. --- Inside the dimly lit room, Eliana was fast asleep. But something stirred her awake. She shifted slightly, her heavy eyes opening slowly, and she heard it—the faint melody, like it was carried on the wind. > "Up above the world so high, Like a diamond in the sky..."

Her hands scrabble along the chain, tugging at them uselessly. They won’t give. “Orion!” she shrieks, terrified as the pounding, ominous rhythm of soldiers’ boots along the marble grows closer and closer. She yanks at the chains, tearing her own skin along the rough surface and streaking red on the iron. It won’t give, not in the slightest. She turns, eyes desperately searching for her dragons, but they- are not there. “Perseus!” she screams, hands still tugging at the chains, ignoring the blistering pain traveling through her torn fingertips.

She faltered, her breathing hitching as those words struck her as painfully familiar. After all, they were the very same things she had once said to me about Gabe. No one could have expected that the boomerang of fate would come back to hit her squarely five years later. She knew she had no right to accuse me. After a long pause, clutching the divorce agreement, she let out a self-mocking laugh and asked, "What do I have to do now to make you come back?" I looked at her seriously. "Once I've made a decision, I never turn back."

The pendant around Elara's neck glowed even brighter, casting a pale blue light that only slightly pierced the overwhelming darkness. Suddenly, a soft melody reached their ears. The sound was haunting, echoing through the winding corridors and drawing them forward. The tune was eerily familiar to Elara, and a memory tugged at the edges of her mind. "That's... that's Lysandra's lullaby," she whispered, her eyes wide with realization. "She used to sing it to me when we were children."

“Well, maybe it’s not about choosing just one. You could wear the pink tutu over the blue one. Then you’d be both a mermaid and a ballerina.” Elara’s eyes lit up like fireworks. “Mommy, that’s brilliant!” She hurried back to the mirror, holding the two up together, her little face glowing with excitement. “Yes! Yes, I’ll do that! Then I’ll match the seashells and the waves.” Aurora chuckled softly, but her attention drifted again, her gaze sliding to her phone on the nightstand. She picked it up for the tenth time that hour, unlocking the screen, refreshing the notifications. Still nothing.

She then looked at the water kissed it and said, "my ears can hear come out to me, the mermaids of the sea." Suddenly a beautiful creature came out of the water, her legs were that of a fish and it was inside the water. Her waist to her head was human-like, she was so beautiful with blue eyes. "What is your name?" I asked. "Maltida," the mermaid said. She kept on looking at me, it was like she kept drawing me into the water, I cannot explain it. I felt I needed to meet her. Then suddenly I heard a sound! It was a siren!

I was so aroused after meeting my little maid in the courtyard that I had to call Melissa to help. She was only too happy to do so, foolishly believing it was about her. I chuckled because the silly she-wolf had no idea what was coming. My pack has been secretly planning an attack on the Grayhedge Pack for years, and nothing will stop me from having my revenge. All thoughts of revenge departed from my mind at the sight of a little bundle on the floor. It was my maid! I was at her side in two strides and lightly placed two fingers at her throat, trying to feel her pulse.

Making me wonder if the humans have succeeded in capturing us all or if they all relocated. I swam around, trying to know if I would see any mermaid, but there was none. I suddenly noticed the water was slowly reflecting a golden light. I swam up to the surface of the water to see the cause. There I noticed that the sun was going down. That instant, my quest which I seemed to have forgotten came back to my memory. I made to dive back into the water to head to a destination I had no idea of. But the
