Merlin Academy Romane & Geschichten

[Shahira's Pov – Three Months After the Hearing] The magical academy opened on a crisp autumn morning, with twelve students gathered in what had once been a storage building. Celeste stood at the front of the converted classroom, radiating enthusiasm despite her nerves. Behind her, diagrams of magical theory covered the walls—symbols, patterns, flow charts showing how different types of magic interacted. "Welcome," she said to the assembled wolves, "to the first day of what we're calling the Freedomborn Academy of Integrated Magic. Or FAIM for short, though I admit the acronym needs work."

I ran a hand through my brown hair and decided to leave it down, messy waves were kind of my thing. No makeup. No gloss. No effort. Just enough to not look like a walking zombie. Taking a deep breath, I stepped out of the room and into the unfamiliar halls of Lupinemere Academy, trying to shake the nerves off. It was my first day. A fresh start. ----- I sat quietly in class, trying to blend in but it didn’t take long to realize this wasn’t your average school.

another voice grumbled within the crowd. Merlin's head turned toward Liora, who gave a little nod, and he continued. "Soren Acle, you will be buried alive, according to the rules that abide by your position," Merlin announced, and as the words left his mouth, Soren Acle, who had hoped for something light, something doable, felt his breath catch, then his eyes widened as every piece of the words settled into an understood statement.

Merlin stayed silent for a while after hearing that, and when he finally spoke, he asked me to be his student. ***** A whole week had passed since Merlin asked me to be his student and followed up with, “I know it’s not a good time at all to ask this, so I’ll wait as long as you need for your answer.” I remembered at that moment what magic had done to me. What it had done to my family, my friends. It was evil. “Why would I want something this evil? Why would I want to hurt my family and friends even more?” I screamed, “It has done nothing but ruin my life!”

"A goddess, nonetheless. I am unfamiliar with this Merlin. If you could please provide us with a brief history, we will be better able to determine if we can assist in whatever capacity you require." Ari nodded. "Merlin was a wizard of some repute. He once aided kings before our times progressed beyond their system of rule. Legend says that he is the bastard child of a demon and noble woman. He's immensely powerful, able to shape-shift, change perceptions of reality, and control the elements." I looked up at my grandmother, my mouth hanging open. "And you think I can beat him by myself?"

Ash and Kai step back as a black ichor starts climbing out of her mouth and nose. Merlin holds the crystal to the liquid and it flows into it. It was thick and the tendrils move around, swaying as they find purchase on the crystal and then get sucked inside. Merlin is stroking her head, and still muttering in a language he doesn’t know. She holds his gaze as he continues drawing the ichor out of her. She’s shaking, and her spine drops back to the mattress as the ichor is finally contained in the crystal, which disappears into a pocket of the blue coat.

Any rider at the Academy is going to be stronger than Merellien. “What do you suggest?” Princess Miriel asks. “A unified attack. We all know they have an Academy, an Academy that we’ve been denied entrance to. If we work together, we can surround the Academy, take them by surprise, and defeat them,” Merellien says. “They have more than just dragons at the Academy,” Prince Thalorin says. “Bury the wolves and shifters. They have no element to fight back. All they have is numbers. Once they’re gone, it’s a battle of elves and dragons against elves and dragons,” Nylion says.

Merlin, unused to seeing werewolves strip naked to shift, had kept her eyes studiously trained on the book that she had, thankfully, brought with her. When Zeke remained in the mansion to attend to pack business, Merlin passed the time in the library, gathering research on curses and rituals to break them. The library was impressively large with books on nearly every subject, especially werewolves and other supernatural beings and it was here, that Merlin found herself most at ease. Some days, she would be so engrossed in the books that she would forget the time, only emerging when it was evening.

There will be a man that will fetch you tomorrow for you to be able to go here. ~HeadMistress Rei' I immediately folded the paper after reading what’s inside of it. Magisch Academy huh? What a weird name? Should I accept it or not? What if it’s a scam? Or a trap from my enemies? But do I have a choice? I no longer have a school to go to and I especially do not want to stop studying.

He paused and seemed to go into thinking for a while. "It's the first medallion Ravenlake academy got during the Alpha trials in the very first year it was established. The entire students then, who are now alumni, powered the medallion with enchantments, each contributing a portion of their spiritual energies. So the medallion isn't ordinary and yearly, selected students contribute their energies to it also. It goes beyond what you may think, you can't just box its power. So the energy from the medallion is diverse and one of those, which I learned about, is that it points out potential threats within a short period of time." Austin explained.
