Mikah shifted from where he leaned against the wall, his arms folding more tightly as he gave me that same maddening, easygoing smile.
“You’re the only one who can see me, Priscilla,” he said calmly, like it was the most casual thing in the world. “No one else can. Not that werewolf, not his witch, not even your best friend here.” His eyes flicked briefly to Davina before returning to mine. “We’ll catch up later for more details on why I'm here. Don’t worry.”
He started to fade, slowly, like smoke caught in the sunlight, his outline breaking apart and dissolving into the air—but not before he smirked one last time and gestured lazily to the rumpled bed.
