My wolf, Midnight keeps jumping around in circles in my mind. “Where’s Luna, where’s my Luna he asks?” “I don’t see her nor smell her yet and she never responded to my text, Midnight” I tell him. “Oh well, let me have some fun,” said Midnight as he jumps to the front of my mind and takes over my body. He walks us over to the table with a spread of different moonshines, grabs a paper cup and pours. He slams the first drink and pours another. Storm didn’t walk in carried like something fragile. He marched through the doors holding his favorite wolf plushie by one ear, eyes enormous, awe rolling through him like thunder. “Appy birfday, Stom!” the toddlers chorused — some lisping, some yelling it like a war cry. The courtyard outside had been turned into a miniature fair. Real pony rides circled under strings of glowing lanterns, each pony braided in ribbons and bells. A shining carousel turned slow and proud near the orchard fence — Ryker’s gift, something he’d sworn was “temporary,” though everyone already knew it wasn’t going anywhere.

I decided to name him Loki, continuing with Aunt Kim’s Norse God theme, and Everly wants to run an online contest for the rescue’s social media followers to name the gray mare. We’re taking them, along with the three ponies Jacob is hauling, right to the clinic. He already talked to Crystal, who set up stalls. They’ll stay there until we can be sure they’re healthy and not contagious; though, Jacob told me not to be surprised if the mare needs to stay longer. She’s in rough shape and lacks the light in her eyes Pongo has, looking like she’s completely given up since her previous owners gave up on her.

"That will be Puck," Gramps said. We made our way outside and I came face to face with the most beautiful silver horse I had ever seen. His mane of hair sparkled in the sunlight, but what caught my attention the most was the white horn, with swirls of what looked like gold ribbon. The Unicorn bowed his head and I ran my fingers through his mane. I was in awe. Suddenly, the Unicorn began to shimmer and I stood back before Puck was standing, fully clothed in jeans and a T-shirt, in front of me. I gasped.

' "Which sister?" Sunny said, "My eldest. I heard from my brother that this was a pony my dad gave her for her third birthday, and the black round spot on its forehead looks like a moon, which is why my sister gave it that name. Then, when she disappeared, Moonshine never let anyone ride it again. "You need to listen to me when I say that you should switch Moonshine for another horse. There's always a risk of disability if a girl like you falls off a horse!"

I whispered. We stopped at a red light. My gaze caught on a billboard the size of a building. It shimmered, transitioned—and suddenly, the word blazed across the screen in white fire: LUNARIS. A high-end nightclub. The most elite. The kind only the rich, powerful, and probably criminal could enter. Even back downtown, Lunaris was a fantasy, the kind of place people dreamed of making enough money just to glimpse. The ad shifted. And then his face appeared.

Liam wrapped his arms around me, locking me in place. Suddenly, I let out a moan as he began to move his leg in a circular motion. He places a hand firmly on my mouth to prevent me from shouting and waking up my sister. "Shhh Lily, you don't want her to hear you acting wildly in her sitting room, do you?" I quickly soaked my painties, making a mess upon his pyjamas.

After watching my trending topic soar to the top of the list, I happily prepared to sleep. Within half an hour, I heard Cade's hurried, heavy footsteps approaching. "Jodi! Is this how you're getting back at me? Who is that man?" A picture was thrown at my face. Half the picture was my suggestive bedroom photo, while the other half was a passionate shot of Cade pinning Summer Langford against a window. This was exactly the trending news I had the paparazzi release.

I grab the box and dart outside. “Now what” I asked. “Inside there should be a potion” she said “give it to him.” I look through the contents of the box, crystals, a rabbit leg and finally a vile with a purple liquid inside. “That’s the one” she said. I pop the lid off and pour it in Liam’s mouth; he starts to cough. The wounds on his body begin to heal and Liam opens his eyes. “Oh thank god you’re alright” I hugged him. “Ouch” he groaned.
