"You've been awake for less than five minutes." "And he's already annoying me," one twin complained. "I'm annoying you?" the other gasped dramatically. "You're annoying everybody!" I couldn't stop myself from laughing. They were impossible. Absolutely impossible. And somehow, incredibly adorable. The argument continued to escalate.

Midnight stated coldly while his eyes were full of boredom. "Now, now that's not how you greet your cousin Night," Dr. Zithea stated with a mischievous grin and provoking Midnight. "You annoying brat, stop talking. You still owe me something," Midnight said with a glare. "Yea, yea, I'll replace your console. Sheesh, you're rich; you don't need me to be doing that," Dr. Zithea said, then rolled her eyes as a sign of annoyance.

“It is indeed. I couldn’t stop laughing.” “Yeah, right. I bet you were having fun.” “So, how are you feeling? Damn! I can’t believe it's midnight.” Jace stated as he looked up to the dark sky. “What do you mean?” Xander threw back and also looked out the window. The air felt chilly. “You know what I am talking about, Xander. All this is new, and I am sure you have been in your thoughts all day.”

"Well, out you go now. It's past 1in the midnight." "1:30." Navaeh corrected as if to let them know she was still there. "It's morning, you dummy." "So when is midnight then, genius?" "Obviously, from the name midnight means middle of the night... By 12AM." "You said am. AM is used for morning." "So?" "So, midnight is the same as morning, fool." "No, you– are not wrong. I looked at him and laughed even more. The man chuckled shaking his head, am sure he is also thinking about the same thing. “What is so funny? Share the joke please.” He said and I just couldn’t stop laughing, he is the biggest joke ever. “Oh, Mason, how I wish we can turn back time, but we can’t and here we are,” I say with a smile on my face. “I don’t understand.” He says looking confused. “Don’t worry about it, you will find out tomorrow, now I can’t wait!” I say smiling.

A childhood visual of the old witch from the library Hansel and Gretel book pops into my head and only increases the giggles I exude. “I hope not, I’m barely grown, and she might add me to tonight’s menu. I’m too big for an oven!” I point out between snorts of stupid laughter and Meadow caves and starts giggling too, lightening our whole mood. I guess the tension and the heavy weight of this journey has us strung out enough, that even a lame joke like this has enough power to break the strings and have us erupt. It’s needed, between us, this bonding over awful jokes.

My idiot❤️: Yeah, that's not gonna happen. You: ??? My idiot❤️: I'm still asleep by that time. You: Then don't be asleep, set an alarm early. My idiot❤️: Hunt, spring break is my time to sleep in. I replied with a roll of my eyes. Alpha Cadell held a ball in his very fancy, and extremely huge, mansion. He said it was a celebration for his arrival at the new town.
