She said with a quiet voice. Mireille was the kind of person who never shouts. She's known as the oldest wolf in the whole of the Silent Howl Clan. She'd retreated into the light parts of the mountains to live a quiet life after clocking the long age of 700 years. She'd seen wolves come and go, seen the not so common lycans who appeared once in a blue moon at different large clans who rarely interfered with each other. She lived in the most peaceful pack under the silent howl clan, Moon whisper pack.

There was a tale passed through generations, reaching the 21st Century, about a group of werewolves’ special mutation that brings out dormant abilities from a family’s genetic line. They were said to be marked and blessed by the moon goddess for they were the first of her followers. They were given the title of Legacy Wolves, keeping up their tradition and passing on their special traits through their children.

Wayne muttered and Olive whipped her head at him, scowling deeply. “Don't even think using words like that on me will get me to stop being angry,” she blurted but Wayne laughed and winked. “This is a masterpiece. It contains every myth and legend regarding the firewolf, what is true and not true,” Mufasa spoke out as he began glancing through the pages. “Apparently, they're rare and only happen in millenniums. According to Milicent who almost turned us all to book shelves of course,” Crusoe stated.

Isn’t that precious,* Mila said, smacking away and chomping through her mangled mess. *Sure, I guess,* I cringed, unsure of which sight was making me more queasy. “Goddess, she really is a pure golden wolf. Magnificent,” Draven said in shock, just as Mila got up to strut around and show herself off. What the heck was so special about a golden wolf?

I wanted to be strong for Elian, to be his pillar, but I feared that I was crumbling with every moment that passed and with every pained groan he let out. Milena shook her head slowly, sighing. “No, unfortunately not. I don’t know what to do because I’ve never seen anything of this caliber before,” she looked down at the small leather bound book she carried for a moment and continued. “I think he’s out of balance with his wolf. Normally, we get our wolf young and grow up with them, but this wasn’t the case for him.” I blinked back the tears threatening to roll down my cheeks and cleared my throat. “What do you mean?”

END OF FLASHBACK Elsie was so engrossed on her spells in raising the Medallion Wolves that she didn't noticed the silent figure behind her all these while. Her followers had gone to the grave of the Medallion Wolves to dig out the remains of their bones. Medallion Wolves are the only wolves in the wolf history who had went rogue. A one wolf that can multiply into three or battalion wolves at a time, hence it name. No one know what had ended their life. Some stories goes that the wolf was the first creation of Mankind, but had anger the one who had created them. Some said the wolf went mad and took his own life.

Well, I guess I'll have to tell her the truth because she always knows when I'm lying, and she hates it when I do. She's the only friend I have in the entire pack. She's already transformed and is a beautiful omega. Her fur is golden, and her eyes are dark brown. She has a sweet and fiery personality, but that rarely surfaces. Her wolf's name is Lilica. She's very rebellious against the injustices committed against omegas. She's also very funny. Milly is six years older than me and no longer needs to attend the academy, but like me, she hasn't found her mate yet. It seems I'm not the only exception to love among wolves.

Bile rises in my throat, and I race to the bathroom, releasing the stale bread and old meat I had for breakfast this morning into my lopsided toilet. Pain ripples through me with each dry heave. I’m empty. Nothing left to come up, but the convulsions don’t stop for a few seconds more. Tears burn in my eyes as I cling helplessly to the bathroom wall, digging my nails into the cheap linoleum tiles. “It’s okay, Kay. Let me take over. Just rest and let go.” I can’t. I want to, but letting Milla take over would only worsen matters. When I shift… it draws attention. The other wolves of River Crest are light brown, honey, or reddish in color. They are of average size and build. But Milla?

As Jenna and Logan celebrated their victory, they suddenly heard a loud roar coming from the forest. They looked up and saw a huge, black wolf standing at the edge of the clearing. The wolf's eyes glowed yellow, and it snarled at Jenna and Logan. Jenna felt her heart skip a beat. She knew that this was no ordinary wolf—it was an Alpha werewolf, and it was here for revenge.
