I glance beside me and there stood the seer. Proud look on his face with a smile. “What is happening right now?” I found myself asking, the seer chuckle beside me. “Miracle.” That was all he said, soon the courtyard filled with people, living beings, no dead bodies and the blood that dirtied the floor was gone too as if magically wiped clean. Then the boy lowered his hands and the snow stopped.

The loss of her parents had shattered her faith long ago. “Then maybe you should, because a miracle just happened,” the doctor’s grin widened. “What do you mean?” Elena’s confusion mingled with the lump forming in her throat, tears pooling in her eyes. Her chest felt both relieved and heavy with emotion and the bright and shallow ambiance of the lights added to her tension. “You’re not dying anymore,” the doctor announced, his excitement changing the aura in the room. Their bond had transcended the typical doctor-patient relationship. He admired Elena’s audacity, her willingness to donate organs at such a young age.

I tuned out all the sounds and negative thoughts that I had and prayed that this chance that I had won’t go to waste. And then I feel it, the soft hum of the spell working their magic. The hut trembled. The mage caught the light in a blackened vial and turned to Mira. “Drink.” Mira didn’t hesitate. She drank it down, gasping as fire spread through her veins. Her body convulsed, and when she looked up—her scent had changed. Light floral notes, warm and innocent… Seraphina’s scent. She smiled.

I become taller, my hair reaches below my waist, and my body gains muscle. I'm not the stick like my old self, but I'm fit now. "Does mating with our mate change our appearance? But Amir didn't change? " I asked, confused.

Something that only happened when Spirit had completely entered your body. “You need not feel apprehensive by the changing of the color of your eyes. It is completely normal when it comes to Spirit entering your soul. She has changed you in many ways. You will notice more changes as time passes by, but nothing will be as drastic as the change in your eyes. This is a blessing, not a curse. Something that you should feel honored by.” Emerald was hoping that she’d have more time before Spirit fully encompassed Abigail, but it had happened immediately, something that rarely ever happened.
