Morgan's gaze was fixed on the tablet on his table, a smirk escaped his lips as he picked his phone and dialed a number. After a few rings the line went through, with Xavier's voice speaking. “You really have a lot of guts and it's interesting.” Morgan smiled. “What do you mean?” Xavier's anxious voice. “You can't figure it out? What's happening to your brain lately?” Morgan mocked. Meanwhile, Xavier sat inside his car about to ignite the engine, when Morgan's call came in. He decided to take the call, but Morgan's words were creepy the hell out of him. Beads of sweat were draped on his forehead, as Morgan's teasing yet dangerous voice filled his ear.

Why hasn't he destroyed the relic? "Because he doesn't know it is happening," a cold, mocking voice answered from the dark doorway of the breakroom. The metal lock on the back door suddenly shattered into pieces with a loud bang. The heavy metal door swung open violently, hitting the wall. Marcus Flint walked straight into the room, a cruel smile on his face. He wasn't alone. Three large, massive men stood right behind him in the shadows. They did not look like high school students at all. They had deep, jagged scars across their faces and eyes that glowed a sinister, dark red color. They were rogue wolves.

The conference room held a small group of wolves and one lone vampire as they sat around a small walnut table. One by one, the screens along the far wall clicked on. The rag-tag bunch of Mythicals definitely looked worse for wear. Everyone but Marian and Jack had minor cuts, bruises, and stitches that were already healing. The Alpha, Beta, and Gamma nursed their wounds, heads in their hands, when a small cough caught their attention. “Ahem. If you all are ready, would you mind explaining what in the fuck happened?” Leader Xavier was fuming. His eyes turned black as he looked to the Lockwoods for answers.

His eyebrows were thick and his gaze was sharp as he looked back and forth between me and Harlow. He sat beside Mr. Moris and they stood up once we entered inside. “Harlow, Alexa, you’ve come. I wanted you to meet Marlon. He’s a dragon warrior.” Mr. Moris gestured. I didn’t know his purpose, but Harlow shook hands with Marlon. The man then took turns shaking hands with me, Jack, and Julius. We all sat on chairs arranged in a circle. There was no table barrier, an open space to observe each other.

I spat, letting my hair tumble down in waves from my ponytail. Alpha Morax, the man who I both loved and hated, raised a single brow at me. He sniffed the air once, surprise coloring his face. I wasn't sure why his eyes darkened not only seconds later, but he closed the distance fast. Before I knew it, blows were being traded between us. Unlike Miqella who dodged and paraded around me like an overwhelming shadow, Morax took me head-on. It was as if he was an indomitable shield, pushing back my attacks with no resistance at all.

In that moment, I came to a decision and it was this: I had never taken a life before, but I was ready to drive my claw up into Morgan’s trachea if she posed a threat to me, because it was pretty clear that she wasn’t simply going to laugh off her defeat and call it a day.
