The Night Before I Knew Him
“You kidnapped me. To New York!”
He stood up calmly, way too calm, like this was just another day for him. “Calm down, Pretty Zombie,” he said, lifting his hands slightly. “You’re pregnant.”
The words hit me square in the chest.
Pregnant.
I froze, then let out a sharp, broken laugh that tasted like hysteria. “Pregnant with your brother’s child,” I snapped. “And you thought dragging me across states was a good idea?” My eyes burned as I stared at him. “You don’t even feel bad. You don’t even think this is wrong.”
