My Left Eye Hurts When I Blink Novels & Stories

My eyelashes fluttered repeatedly until my eyes opened. Almost immediately, they felt a throbbing pain which caused them to close shut. After a minute, I decided to try again. I slowly opened my eyes, giving them time to adjust to the insanely bright light that poked at them. The vast whiteness started to slowly clear up as I continued to blink. One muscle at a time, I started to regain control over my body. By the time I had gone around all six hundred of them, they simultaneously ached in the most painful way I had ever felt.

"It feels so itchy, wet, and like something's moving in my eye." I complained immediately, since one wasn't meant to keep quiet about discomfort when with a doctor. "It's a natural effect. You'll feel like that, and your eyes will water a lot, but don't you worry, you'll be able to use your eyes properly in no time." He replied. "So, I can see right now?" I asked, and he chuckled.

said the doctor. He counted from one to three in his thoughts, and tried to open his eyes all over again. It was slow, and nerve-racking. The great disappointment consumed him when he was able to half opened them and saw nothing but darkness. His tears were starting to form on both sides of his eyes. "Blink," the doctor advised. He shut his eyes again and opened them, blinking twice until he was able to fully open them. Another sight of darkness welcomed him, and it made him teary.

I felt my throat burning as I knew exactly what she was about to say. "I'm sorry to inform you of this but your left eye...." She paused and looked up at me. Her eyes were swallowed as if she was crying straight for hours. In fact all the people in the room had the same expression and eyes. "Has lost its vision." She said, My breath slightly hitched. How is that possible? Yes, I do remember..my left eye was itchy and I could barely see while I was fighting with Spencer. "H-how?" I asked.

And now I’m here. The sting of the brightness grows unbearable, piercing through my vision like needles. My eyes water as I force them to stay open, but the light is too much. It presses against me, unrelenting, making my head throb and my stomach churn. My eyelids tremble with the effort, and the pain finally becomes too sharp to endure.

I should have taken the bottle from her when I had the chance. The eye doctor turned to face me.“ I have to conduct tests and see if her cornea has been damaged.” I nodded and they left for the test. I stayed the whole time and at some point I pulled out a cigarette and lit it up. Cigarettes had become my crutch over the years.

“Well, Alpha, the good news is, there are no foreign objects. No corneal abrasion. Your remarkable healing… well, it’s already taken care of the worst.” Luca let out a frustrated grunt. “But the burning! The blurriness!” The doctor chuckled softly. “You have a very mild superficial redness on the cornea, Alpha. Consistent with a splash of warm water. Nothing serious at all. It will clear up completely by tomorrow. I’ll prescribe a basic antibacterial eye ointment, just to prevent any secondary irritation.” He picked up a small tube. “Apply this three times a day for the next two days.”

All I can think of is downing a nice, cool glass of water. I stumble into the bathroom, half-blind, and after one glance in the mirror, it’s immediately apparent why I can’t see properly. One of my eyes is bruised and blackened, the lid entirely swollen shut. When I press my fingertips to my cheekbone, I wince in pain.

And the Unexplainable thing happened as I was staring at those red eyes the new tattoo on my neck started to tingle. I ran my hands on the mark at the sensation; it may be my imagination, but I think the brightness of those eyes increased a bit. Okay, that's weird. How can that be possible? I try to concentrate on looking into those lights to identify what that is. My eyes start to sting because of the strain from looking at it without blinking for a long time. When I blink them once, it doesn't even take a second, but the red lights are gone. And the window is closed.
