Author’s POV: A mysterious lake: A small town away from California. People of the town have been seeing this pond over 100 years. But yet they know nothing about that lake like who created it and who is using this.!! Most surprising matter is the water label of that lake never changed and the water is fresh as always. The lake area is restricted and there is a boundary covering the lake. People say that few deaths incident occurred who entered into that area. Some used to say that this is somehow connected to the electric power plant which is around two kilometers away from the lake. But none knew how and why this is connected to that electric power plant.

He smelled strongly of alcohol. Soon he let me go and disappeared on the same street where Jared had disappeared the day before. Now what the hell was that? It must run in the family, first they kiss you all of a sudden for no reason and then they disappear. I was far more than perplexed and my mind went crazy. I looked up at a lantern, confused. Okay so it was Jared who jumped, I realized. I thought about my missed opportunity to ask Jared's brother about his possible cult affiliation and also about my mother's words. The former would have been tactless and the latter:

I feel like he was just following me, obviously just messing around with my feelings. "Oh, no! My baby has already arrived—" I'm dead! Why did Dad hold the door open for us?! And he's still recovering! Why did they discharge him already?! “D- Dad, this is Sir Mikhail. He is my professor. Is Mom here?” I let Sir in, while Dad just gaped looking at him. What's going on inside Dad's head? Hold on! Shouldn't that be the question I'm asking myself?! Why do I have my professor in our house?!

Determined. And wielded ultimate control over my body. A helluva combination. Sucking in a deep breath, I slid underwater, testing how long it would take me to panic and start gasping for air. I couldn't remember the last time I panicked. Or really feared. Though Mr. Mysterious in Black sometimes gave me the chills. Death, on the other hand, I liked to challenge. The insidious bastard was always there, smiling slyly, telling me to come. “Come. I'm easier than Life”.

“Never judge a book by its cover. Having a coworker like her is seriously the biggest stain on my life.” I ignored everyone’s mocking comments and simply smiled as I escorted Elijah and his group out. After everything I went through in my previous life, words like these meant nothing to me anymore.

The information about being the heiress of this mysterious mafia organization was a lot to process. If my life were not at stake, would I have known everything about this? Would I have known that my parents built up a dangerous mafia organization where bad people chased them? And now that they are gone, I will take over?
