She laughs as Jeremy makes the same noise she did earlier. After a quick change and me borrowing one of Jeremy’s shirts we get Leo to drop us off into town. Jeremy calls Louis to get their location and we enter the bar “Moonlight” to find them. Owned by one of our Alpha friends from a neighbouring pack we find Louis and company sitting in the VIP section with a dozen bottles of Prosecco.

Lou said as he crossed his arms and pointed his chin at her “and after that you will wash the shop front windows and the sign” Mj rolled her eyes and nodded, Lou reached into his pocket and tossed her a set of keys. Mj fumbled to get her hands out of her pockets and the keys hit the floor. “Could you be any more clumsy?” Lou said, through a belly laugh that made Mj giggle a little, she shrugged “don't have to be quick to cut up what's already dead, and don't call me MollyJay Old man”. She threw a little gut behind the last two words.

My hands were slicked with sweat and I dropped the phone. The boy picked it up and hit the phone screen with his fingertip. “Bad man!” My eyes widened because there were two people in the picture. His fingertip wasn’t on Edmund, but on Louie. They were at a beach and both were in swim trunks. It must have been a couple of years ago since Louie was slimmer and maybe shorter. But there was almost no difference in his facial features except for his jaws which were more defined now. Even in this picture, he looked so good as a matter of fact.

How could he say I should leave just like that? “Louis, what’s going on?” I asked, looking confused. " you're too cheap!" He yelled. “I, Alpha Louis Dave of Lake’s Pack, reject you Nora Luke as my mate. You are banished from this pack,” Louis decreed and right before my eyes, the whole world I've dreamt and fantasized about crashed down before me.

Noel flinched, not dramatically and not enough for a room full of adults to point it out and make the reaction larger than it needed to be. Louie saw. He chose to behave as though he had not. Instead, he switched on the flashlight and aimed the beam toward the ceiling. “Want to know a trick?” Noel hesitated. “What trick?” Louie angled the beam toward the wall. “Count between the flash and the loud part. Not because it makes storms better. Just because numbers are boring and weather hates being boring.” Noel stared at him. “That doesn’t make sense.” “It doesn’t have to.” Louie shrugged. “It just annoys the storm.”
