Victor’s voice boomed with authority:

“I do,” Lorraine said, her voice clear and certain.
“I do,” Caden answered, steady though his heart echoed another name in silence.
The ritual blade was brought forth, its edge gleaming. They each drew a line across their palms, crimson welling before they pressed their hands together. Blood mingled, sealing the pact. A ripple of power surged outward, washing through the clearing as the pack felt the bond begin to form.
