Tomorrow's battle wouldn't wait. The following evening arrived far too quickly. One moment I was reviewing battle plans, the next the sun was setting and it was time to move. I stood in the main courtyard as hundreds of warriors assembled. They came from a dozen different packs, wearing different colours and carrying different weapons, but united in purpose. The sight of them all together made my chest tight with something that might have been hope. "Warriors!" My voice carried across the courtyard. "In less than an hour, the nightwalkers will begin their ritual. They plan to transform hundreds of young wolves into vessels for their souls. We are here to stop them."
