TONY'S POV The alarm rings by 5 am on the dot but I am already awake. I have been awake for the past two hours because I was awakened by a nightmare. The same nightmare that always starts the same way; Everybody would be in the living room of my mansion and we would all be having fun and playing board games and generally having fun. Then all of a sudden, some faceless guys barge into the house and then they kill everybody except me. I start to cry knowing that it was all my fault and then I wake up sweating and gasping for air.

Rudina had been having nightmares every night since she had visited canagan in the hospital. Every night had been exactly the same thing over and over each night increasing in intensity and length and revealing more and more of a terrible future to come. They all started in complete darkness then one wolf call soon joined by many. After that a great battle begins. The wolves fight and tear at each other viciously. Friends and family turning against one another and then all of a sudden a roaring flame ripples through everywhere and Rudina wakes up.

As expected, morale was low upon waking this morning but I was determined to continue my day and to fight this.

I realized that what he said was true, I had died in my sleep, one of my fears was to sleep and be trapped in one of my nightmares, not knowing what was real or not. Her granny called her almost everyday just to know what she saw the previous night and Juana would tell her everything. Sometimes, Juana didn't see anything at all, sometimes she saw good things, but most times, she had nightmares. When her granny called to ask about her dream the night after she saw something about avocados, Juana refused to tell her about it because it involved someone dying. The person was dying. Not dead. She didn't want to imagine any of her parents or even her granny dying, when she tried to, the imagination hurt her so much she got bad headaches. Juana felt like telling someone about it, talking to someone about her whole life, but she wanted a neutral person because

The events of the day felt surreal, like some kind of twisted nightmare I couldn't wake up from. "Try to get some sleep," Raymond said gently, dimming the lights. "Tomorrow we start planning." Sleep. How am I supposed to sleep when my parents are prisoners? But exhaustion eventually won out over anxiety, and I drifted into an uneasy slumber. My dreams were dark and twisted, filled with images of burning houses and screaming voices. I saw my parents chained in some dark basement, calling my name, begging me to save them. And standing over them, always standing over them, was Dominic with that cruel smile and those predatory eyes.

“I know you want to. All of you want to.” His head fell backwards as he slumped down on the ground. And laughed. “I always knew it was all gonna end something like this,” he continued. “I woulda done this back on Earth, you know? Woulda been one of those guys on the news. I’da been that guy who shot up a church or a school or ran over some people in a truck or someshit. Why? Because fuck other people.” Amal listened intently as Nightmare descended into his own mental hell. Her conflict had cooled greatly as he spoke.

Right now, there were other dreams she had to worry about. There was no hiding it, even from herself, that she was scared to think about forcing another nightmare upon her mind. Last time, something happened that prevented her from waking herself and it took an incredible amount of will to pull out of it. What if the next time she didn't come out at all? She was so scared that she did not know what to make of the incident. Horrifying thoughts continued to rush through her head. Was it possible to die in one's dreams? And if so, what would happen out here if one did die there?
