Caspian shouted. Suddenly, the north wall disintegrated. Four men in matte-black tactical gear descended on fast-ropes. These weren't regular soldiers; they were the Reapers, the Old Guard’s personal cleanup crew. They didn't carry rifles; they carried high-output sonic cannons designed to disrupt neural tissue. Whump. The first sonic blast hit the room. The frequency was so high it turned Caspian’s vision into a blur of grey static. He collapsed to his knees, his ears bleeding.

HELP!” He thrashed against the silk sheets, fighting the invisible restraints of the nightmare. The scream tore free, ragged and raw, as he struggled against the terror trying to drag him back under. He finally broke the surface, his eyes snapping open.

The nightmare tore through my consciousness like shattered glass. Blood-soaked walls. Screaming children. Santa Muerte's skeletal form hovering over twin beds.
