The packhouse was half-asleep — guards changing shifts, firelight flickering through cracks, the smell of wet earth and pine thick in the air. When I entered our chamber, Raphael was standing by the window — again. Shirtless, the moonlight tracing the lines of his back like silver veins. I came to get my watch.” He said pointing to the watch on the dresser. “Oh.” I said. He grabbed the watch and wanted to head out but he turned around. “Can I ask you something?” He asked. “Yeah.”
