Nyx Stay Night Novels & Stories

She had not let go of it until she was almost entirely asleep, and even then her fingers had uncurled from it slowly, reluctantly, like she was afraid it would be gone when she woke up. "You're staring," Nyx said. "I'm watching," I said. "There's a difference." "Is there." "Yes. Staring is purposeless. I am watching because she was in a dungeon twelve hours ago and I would like confirmation that she is actually resting and not just performing it." Nyx made the sound he made when he found something I said technically defensible but fundamentally dishonest. I ignored him.

She murmured holding my gaze. "Yes, he fell asleep waiting for you to wake up." I laced my fingers between hers and laid out hands on the bed, "Do you need anything to eat?" "No, I am fine." Nyx looked away from me, gaze resting on the drawn curtains of the window and I noticed her bottom lip quivering, she is about to cry, "You know it's Friday night. Family movie night and she'd pick the movies but now she isn't h-" Her words ended with a choked sob.

I asked. “I had finished up with the rogues, and I came over to help, only to see him trying to kill you, and then, I lost it.” Nyx muttered, kissing me on the lips again. “Don't scare me again, please.” She begged, and I nodded, pulling her in. “How long was I out for?” I asked, resting my head on her boobs. “Almost 17 hours,” Nicholas responded. “Why aren't you guys asleep?” I asked. “It's literally midnight, you should get some rest.”

“I just need one more day. Maybe we can go around town, take some photos in front of the Statue of Liberty or some other…” Atticus looks to me, his eyebrow raised as if to silently say, “Will that be okay?” I look over to Nyx, who looks at me, her eyes wide with fear. “If I stay here, he’ll find me,” she whispers. I look at Atticus and the rest of the group and finally speak up, “It needs to be tonight,” my voice small as I add, “Now, if possible. Nyx needs our protection.” “From who,” Zephyra asks, casually interested. “And why should we help her?”

Nyx closes her eyes, her breathing slowing as Knox nuzzles her neck, his tongue tracing slow, soothing strokes over her fur. “You’re my mate,” Knox whispers, his words wrapping around her like a lullaby. “I’ll always protect you, Nyx. Always.” Nyx sighs, her entire body going lax as she nestles closer to him. The moonlight bathes them in a soft glow, and for the first time in days, Nyx feels at peace. The moment she fell asleep, so did I. I couldn’t escape the warm cocoon Alec and Knox had built around us.

Chapter 152 Nyx "You hate this morning," Alex corrected while pulling on clothes. "Can't say I blame you." We dressed in silence and I felt our bond already stretching with anticipation of distance, already preparing for separation that would test whether love really could transcend physical space. Downstairs his brothers and mother were already gathered with packed bags and anxious expressions, and I watched them trying to project confidence they clearly didn't feel. "Everyone clear on the plan?" Alex asked while his alpha voice commanded attention. "Ryan, Mom, and I go to Midnight Mirage, Nyx, Liam, and Jayce head to Silver Crescent."

She didn’t care about her facial expressions and held my eye contact while she glared. She turned back to the warriors and her eyes twinkled with excitement. I scoffed, ignoring me, she watched them as they collided and began fighting. Nyx called dibs on a couple of the men for Clara and Jade whined, actually whined. Nyx laughed at Jade’s reactions, her anger, and her fit. She insisted that Clara had to be present in order to claim anyone. Jade insisted he was her destined and Nyx told her not to play that card. Jade asked her what she’d do about it and Nyx told her she’d have them joined by nightfall. I didn’t know this was a dating service. Jade didn’t say anything to that and I smiled in

ATLAS'S POV Trying to wake Nyx, I tapped her softly. She fell asleep not long after she came out of the toilet and causing all kinds of trouble. It was midnight already. Her time to leave. As much as I wanted her to stay, she had made up her mind to leave and I knew that truly she couldn't stay till forever.

Priya had invited them to a thing, a proper thing, with a guest list and a theme, and Olivia had said no without building the elaborate scaffolding of justification she would once have needed to decline anything, which was itself a small new freedom, the saying of no to a thing she did not want and then simply not thinking about it again. They turned the lamps off and stood at the window instead and watched the city set fire to its own sky at midnight, the fireworks going up green and gold and white over the river, and he stood behind her with his arms crossed over her and said happy new year into her
