Ronan took the first bite without shame. Calliope watched them fondly. “You two worry too much.” Silas’s smile faltered. “We just… want this to work.” Her expression softened. “It will. Tears are running down his face, but he’s smiling. “Your turn,” Alaric murmurs to me. I step forward. My knees shake. I’m 22, an omega, a healer. But I’m also Luna now.

“I’m looking it up now.” “Me too.” We were quiet while the site loaded up. It was a streamlined site with a simple explanation of their mission. Omega members took a vow of chastity, which meant, I read, that they would not have sex outside of a mate-bond. They did indeed work with leather goods to raise money for the cooperative. What I found most interesting was what the site lacked. There was no page listing major donors. There were no photos of people’s faces, just figures working on scraps of leather. There was one artistic shot of a male omega’s hands pounding grommets into what looked like leather pants.

JOSH POV Now, I have my first question. “Omegas?” I ask. Maddie smiles at me again. She begins to climb the stairs as she answers me, “Omega is a ranking within wolf shifter packs. It is the lowest rank of wolves. Most packs have an abundance of lower ranking wolves, omegas being the most prolific. They tend to be the worker bees. Landscapers, housekeepers, child care givers, teachers, nurses, and doctors; professions like that who are all about care and repetition, emotional empathy, encouragement and care. They have huge hearts, and it is in theirs’s and their wolves’ natures to be attentive and nurturing to the other pack members.

An omega brought a stool with some objects on it as I walked up the stage, an omega is the lowest ranking member, they are the cleaners and cooks of the pack. In some packs omegas are nothing but unworthy low life, they are practically slaves in most packs but not here although we don't treat them as equal and don't mingle with them we still treat them well. "Do you Aryon Walker pledge to always serve, protect the blue moon pack and put it first before anything?" This is really happening, I felt nervous and my fingers were sweating.

I could even hear the wolves fighting from afar but I wouldn’t dare to look back and stay here anymore to gossip. Then I saw an Omega walking towards a shop. Another rank, the lowest rank, can be given to a wolf in a pack. Packs rarely abused Omegas anymore because it threw the pack off balance. Omegas may be the pack's lowest-ranking member, but their presence allowed the other members to unwind. With so many higher ranking and powerful pack members constantly around, people could become uneasy and get intimidated. But if an Omega is present, the hierarchy of power is stabilized.
