One Year After Novels & Stories

Peter smirked, causing my hand to twitch with the need to slap him clear across the face. “You know that I’m bound to get that promotion at work, plus tonight is a special occasion,” he explained. “It is, after all, our one-year anniversary.” One year?! Oh, God. I was positive I was going to pass out or, worse, become sick. The woman continued to smile. “Well, now that you’re no longer being stalked by that annoying girl, I suppose we can finally get on with our lives,” she remarked.

KILLIAN One Year Later A year ago, I was rushing to the hospital, terrified I’d lose the woman I loved. Today, I rush home every single day, terrified I’ll miss the sacred 6:00 PM Bathtime Window. It’s been one year since Leo and Clara arrived and turned our beautifully organized mansion into a toy-strewn, happy mess. And I wouldn't change a second of it.

Carrie ONE YEAR LATER A year, that feels like a thousand, has passed. And I have just one conclusion: regaining my memories was a curse. A curse that would have squeezed me into pieces if I didn’t have Alessandro next to me. I am not willing to go into the details of the past year, but I can say I will never forgive my father. And even my mother, for indulging him to the point where he thought parenting equalled obsessive control. That man did not just lock me up, gloat over me and kill my innocent baby; he also destroyed me, destroyed any will I had to live, and tossed me into a bondage I didn’t discover until months later.

One Year Anniversary Dylan's POV It had been one year since Elena's rescue. One year since the twins were born, one year since Morgana was defeated. I wanted us to celebrate and mark how far we had come and how much we had survived and thrived. The past year had been a blur of sleepless nights, power training, and pack meetings but we had made it through stronger than before. Every scar, tear, and every moment of doubt had brought us to this place of peace.

And the Sleepers kept breathing synchronized, kept fighting, kept holding on through their first full year of nothing. One year down. However many more to go.

Intense. “Just start now. Let's be two together as a real couple for a year. Hopefully, we will understand each other. Promise, after a year? I'll let you and I'll see you too. Now, let’s enjoy this set-up of ours first. One year." I made him understand what he was saying. It suddenly came to life, and then he took his hand from my grasp. I just let it go. His hand, too. “Just make sure. After a year. I will annul our marriage.” Even hesitant. I nodded at wanting it to happen.

1 year later Faith's POV It's been a full year since Atlas and Melissa have been in New York. In this full year I felt like as if Atlas was slowly distancing himself from me. Our texts, calls and skype calls were reducing day by day. At first I thought it was because he was busy but I'm sure he couldn't be that busy that he didn't even have 2 minutes to spare for me.

“No guessing. No confusion halfway through.” “Agreed.” “One year,” I add. He studies me. “One year.” “Yes. We get married, we stay married for a year, and then we end it.” He takes that in quietly. No immediate reaction, which is very him. Everything with Daniel feels like it goes through a process before it comes out. “And after that?” he asks. “We walk away,” I say. “Clean.” A pause stretches between us, but it does not feel fragile. It feels… decided.

XAVIER’S POV “One year,” I said quietly as I stood on the balcony and looked over the city, the early morning light slowly spreading across the buildings. “It's been one entire year since we stood in that garden and promised to choose each other every day.” I smiled at the thought because so much had changed during those twelve months. The chaos that once surrounded our lives had finally become something distant, almost like a story that belonged to another version of us. There were no investigators waiting outside the house, no lawyers arriving with another emergency and no phone calls warning me that someone had discovered another hidden account.

Ella's POV One year. It had been one year since everything changed. One year since I found out the truth about my father. One year since I learned about the Moon Goddess and the curse. One year since I discovered who I really was. One year since I fell in love with Kael. One year since I lost him. One year since I got him back. One year since my mom gave up her love for me. One year since I started healing. I sat on my bed, looking out the window. The sun was setting. The sky was orange and pink and gold. Beautiful.
