A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

“No, Alpha! Of course not!” “Then find them,” I say. “You have until sunrise. If the count is not rectified, I will find a Quartermaster who understands that numbers are not suggestions.” I walk out, leaving him scrambling through the racks in a panic. I move to the walls. The night watch is changing. It’s the most vulnerable time in the rotation. That brief, sloppy window where the tired men are leaving and the fresh men are still rubbing sleep from their eyes. I stand in the shadow of the gatehouse tower and watch.

I feel like the story was drawn out and slow at some points, but overall it was good. I love Kieran and Alexei as a couple and how they interacted with the other characters. The only thing I would change is having them switch occasionally in the bedroom since Kieran is an alpha too.

THE DORMANT LUNA Book 1

THE DORMANT LUNA Book 1

NEAH I couldn't sleep. My brain wouldn't shut off. Guard rotations and tunnel dimensions and fifty-one hostages and a mole in our ranks spinning through my head like a machine with no off switch. I gave up at 1:47 AM. Pulled on a sweatshirt and padded downstairs for water. The packhouse was dark. Warriors sleeping in every available space. Bodies on floors and couches. The air heavy with the restless energy of people preparing for war. The kitchen light was off. I filled a glass by feel. Drank half of it standing at the sink. The cold water hit my empty stomach and reminded me I hadn't eaten since morning.

Surrogate for the Alpha

Surrogate for the Alpha

It wasn’t male either. It was both. And neither. And it knew him. He slammed the book shut. The flames on the torches flickered. > “Someone’s protecting her. Someone older than any of us.” Alex turned to leave—but before he did, he noticed one book... tucked deep into the wall, half-hidden behind a cracked obsidian skull. Its title glowed faintly: “The First-born Flame: Records of the One Who Watched the Moon.” He reached for it. But the moment his fingertips touched the leather, the runes around the library pulsed—and the book… vanished.

Ultima.

Ultima.

— Dean heard footsteps in the hallway and quickly retreated to his room - we have interior doors, which is very good for me personally. Yes, I felt before him that Rahiel was coming here! Looking up at the door, I did not wait for the knock and said loudly: — Come in, Rahiel! You'll get in anyway...— — Hi, Caro!— the angel opened the door. — If you wanted to tell me the terrible news, then - surprise!- I already know.—I said irritably.— I'm looking out the window on mornings. — You and Dean will be on night watch. We have a catastrophic shortage of normal people. So you'll get off. The night watch is not

A Werewolf's Growth and Redemption

A Werewolf's Growth and Redemption

I didn't wait for his response and went to check the situation. The night watch was divided into two shifts. The first shift was handled by Ethan, while the second one was Lisa's responsibility. Perhaps it was because we had received good news from Maria's side that we were relatively relaxed. After all, without the assistance of the magicians from the rogue organization, Roy needed time to gather his strength. This meant he wouldn't be making any moves anytime soon. If circumstances allowed, we might even be able to return to Maria's place for a while.

A Flame in the Shadow

A Flame in the Shadow

We were the storm that would answer her fury with fire of our own. ********* Night poured like ink across the Watchers’ stronghold, no stars, no moon, just a suffocating stretch of black sky pressing down. I couldn’t sleep, and I wasn’t sure I even wanted to. My skin felt too tight. My blood too loud. I stood alone in the candlelit corridor outside the chamber we’d been given. The flames danced strangely tonight, longer, flickering in odd directions, almost whispering to me.

Dark Desires : A Collection of Filthy Forbidden MM Sins

Dark Desires : A Collection of Filthy Forbidden MM Sins

Chapter 4: Shadows and Surrender The crack outside the cabin window jolted me awake before dawn, my body still sore and marked from Damien’s relentless claiming the night before. I lay tangled in the heavy blankets, his arm draped possessively over my waist, his breath warm against my neck. For a brief second, peace settled over me in the dim firelight. Then another sound pierced the quiet. Footsteps crunching on fresh snow. Close. Too close. “Damien,” I whispered urgently, shaking his shoulder. My heart pounded as I sat up, clutching the sheet to my chest. “Someone is out there. The watcher. They are not staying outside anymore.”

The Girl Who Survived the Night

The Girl Who Survived the Night

A tall figure stood at the foot of my bed, reeking of alcohol. In an instant, I was dragged back into that nightmare. But this time, I wouldn’t be afraid. The moment Winson appeared, the comments surged like a flood. [Ahhh, the male lead’s finally here. That face—I'm obsessed.] [Not just handsome, he’s got insane stamina too. Seven times in one night. She’s living the dream.] Seven times in one night? What did that make me? A sex doll?

Dead Weight

Dead Weight

The conversation happens at two in the morning on the third day of the operation. This is the only kind of time Maya has left for important things now: the narrow gap between one crisis and the next, generally at an hour when civilization has the decency to be asleep. She stands at the map, rebuilding routes around the seventh. The blackout holds. Pete and Ben remain camped on the watcher’s relay, taking shifts that are mostly theoretical because neither of them appears willing to leave the radio unattended while the other is breathing.

The Watchmaker's Will"

The Watchmaker's Will"

Anaya yelled, her eyes locked on the dark silhouette of Christ Church looming at the far end of the square. Vikram reached into his leather satchel, his fingers brushing past the cold glass of the vial before gripping the shattered silver pocket watch they had pulled from the underground vault. The metal casing was burning hot now, the internal friction of its forced counter-rotation melting the intricate brass gears within. He raised the watch toward the advancing line of shadow entities and slammed his thumb down on the master winding crown.
