The One Way Ticket

The One Way Ticket

They were both taken aback, Cwena looked up at the window to see if anyone was there and Gerey stared at the door, expecting anyone to come in at that moment. “I'm the book you dolts!” the book said in a boring, matter-of-fact voice, “you didn't expect me to be a dumb book that bears the tickles of an inked feather tingling on its pages do ya?!” “Uhm, no - no. Not at all,” Cwena put in mildly, trying hard to hide the look of disbelief at what she could see right before her, on the gathered hay. The book remained silent, twisting its lips like a female putting on a gloss, “Well, I'm Cwena Engow, and this is Gerey -”

Pregnant from the man I hate - A Billionaire Romance

Pregnant from the man I hate - A Billionaire Romance

A real children's laugh. Nora slept on Noah's shoulder. I fell on my knees. Weinte. Not before pain. To facilitate. Noah knelt to me. He kissed my forehead. And whispered: “Is it over?” I wanted to answer. Really. But at this moment I noticed something. On the dining table there was a broken book. An old, blue book. That we had never possessed. I got up slowly. My hands trembled. I hit the last page. There was only one sentence.

The Prison

The Prison

It was a tracker. I dug deeper into the bag and found a children's storybook, ‘The Hunting Game.’ I skimmed through the pages, there no words on them only colored pictures but what I thought was a story for children was actually a morbid depiction of the game. I had to find the bird before the wolves do or they would eat its heart. There were other characters in the book like the doctor, the police, and the civilians. In total there were twenty-four of them excluding the bird, the same number we were. There were no rules written in the book only the vague riddle at the end. ‘He who has the bird has the power.’ And the warning from the voice, ‘don’t tell anyone about your role.’ My head ached

Disguised At The Wolf Academy: Rooming With The Two Alphas

Disguised At The Wolf Academy: Rooming With The Two Alphas

“There might be an answer hidden inside the forbidden book.” Without waiting for the board members to dismiss the crowd, the four of us quietly slipped away from the field. We hurried across the courtyard and ran straight to Eileen’s dorm room. The moment the heavy wooden door shut behind us, I rushed over to the small desk. I pulled out the book from its hiding spot and tossed it onto the mattress. I sat down and began to flip through the weathered, yellowed pages immediately, my fingers searching for any mention of the glowing dome. Finally, my eyes landed on a section containing faded illustrations of a fractured crescent symbol. It was a part in the book that explicitly talked about the

Blue Blood

Blue Blood

She was slightly taller, her skin looked more tanned, and her eyes that were previously light hazel but now, I couldn’t even place the color. Her features seemed enhanced. She sat beside me and handed me something, I looked to see that she handed me a book. I squealed in delight. Finally! Something to distract me!! I can’t keep thinking about murderers and mythical creatures! I’ve even forgotten that I’m human, at this point. I slid my palm across the smooth cover of the book and admired the cover. On the cover, read “To kill a mockingbird.” After studying the cover and tossing the book up and down, I smiled and looked up to speak to Eve when I caught her staring at me with a strange express

The Alpha's Secret Daughter

The Alpha's Secret Daughter

She is young; it couldn't have been much longer after she was crowned. The next page is her at her mating ceremony with Kragen. Mom reached over to the book, flipping hundreds of pages before landing on an empty page and flipping it backward, landing on the last picture. The page isn't complete, though, and I can't tell what it's supposed to be other than Lucy is meant to be on it. "This moment didn't happen. Whatever it was supposed to be. Something interfered," Mom says. "What does the book just draw itself?" Saul asks before kissing the mark on my neck.

"Then it'll be just like old times." Misty opened the book and smiled as Eva shuffled around to get comfortable on her lap. Misty then read out the title of the book. Vampires and Their Beloveds "Is this a story or an information book?" Eva questioned her mother. "Looks like it's an information book," Misty spoke out as she turned the page. Before Misty could start reading again, Eva could hear the alarm clock ringing once again in her shared room with Alana. Eve quickly rose to her feet and sighed.

I let this happen. I moved my back towards the window and walked over to an old wooden desk in the large healing room. Aunt Belle had left a book there, something which she said would assist me in making some sense of all of everything going on. The title, larger than the rest of the text, read: “The History of Supernatural Covens.” I had not for a moment agreed to read the book because anticipation was scary especially when it came to witches and curses from ancient days. Yet if I had to do this to save Zoey it was about time that I came face to face with my fears.

I asked him and started looking around to see what might have him alerted. “Cinnamon and apples.” Maddox’s tail is now going 100 miles per hour. He’s jumping threw invisible hoops in my head. “Shitballs.” I muttered “What? Find something useful?” Ben asked looking up from the 350-year-old book he was attempting to comprehend. “We got to get out of here. She’s here” “Who’s here?” “The runt. Let’s go!” I say closing books and putting them on a rack for the librarians to put back on the shelf.

Great read! Especially for a new author. Interesting story that kept me engaged. Loved the slow introduction of characters that allowed me to get to know each one. However, if you are looking for steamy bedroom scenes, you will find this lacking.

Jasper: Love and Monsters (Book 2 of Jasper)

Gathering her courage, she said with a bold voice that sounded far more confident than she felt, “I am here to tend to you.” Cerie’s head quickly popped up and her nostrils flared as she eagerly said, “I smell food.” “I have broth for you. Later, I will bring you solid food,” Cora said as she pulled a chair next to the bed so that she could spoon feed the old crone. “I could feed myself if you untied me,” Cerie pouted.
