Nothing. Not a whisper. Not a flicker. Until I blinked— And saw it. For half a second. A shadow burned into the page, then vanished. A figure, holding something, then... a scream. But when I looked again it was gone. I didn’t tell Nyra. Not yet. Not while Azric was breaking, not while the Council was closing in, not while we didn’t even know if the book was trying to warn us, or lure us in. Whatever it was, it wasn’t done with us.

“It senses him.” Before anyone could speak, the book shuddered. Then flipped itself open again—pages flying violently, as if hands far stronger than theirs had seized it. Shadows bled from the text, curling like smoke, spilling off the table and crawling along the ground. Elias instinctively took a step back. “Kairis,” Lucian barked. “What the hell is that?” She didn’t answer right away. Her pupils were dilated, black eating at the whites of her eyes as she stared into the center of the book.

Finally, she found the one she was looking for. Layla managed to grab the book and add it to her stack in her arms when her eyes caught sight of something. A book stood out among the rest. It was bound with dark brown leather and had brandished designs on the spine. The title read - Malleus Vampiro: A Treatise on Vampires. Placing her other books on the floor, Layla pulled the leather-bound book from its home amongst the others and opened it. As her eyes skimmed the pages, she caught a couple of words; SHADOW STALKERS, BLOODSUCKER, PHANTOMS.

3 Natasha's eyes gently fluttered open, casting their gaze upon the familiar surroundings of her room. She found herself in a state of bewilderment, wondering what had transpired prior to her awakening. Just then, Mr. P entered the room, holding a steaming cup of coffee, which he carefully placed on the nearby stool. "Wah, wah... what happened, Mr. P?" she inquired, her voice tinged with curiosity and confusion. "What happened? You don't remember?" he responded, his tone filled with concern.

I could feel my flesh burning and I winced in pain. “Stop running. You’re only going to suffer more,” he said as he entered the broken door. I ignored what he said and continued climbing up the stairs. It only took me a couple of seconds before I reached the line of tables in the very middle. The entire library was not in total darkness because of the light slipping through the glass windows from the outside. I ran to the east wing and hid behind the tall shelves while catching up my breath. The werewolf’s footsteps echoed in the air.

Kyra approached it carefully, feeling her heart race in excitement. "Perhaps this is the reason for the disruptions," she mentioned as she gingerly picked up the ancient book from the stand. "If we are able to decode what it says, we could potentially grasp the situation." Upon opening the book, a cold breeze blew through the shrine. The book was packed with mysterious writing and images of sinister ceremonies. Kyra’s eyes grew wider as she perused a section that appeared to detail a procedure for beckoning shadows—an procedure that had the potential to release a fresh surge of darkness.

The goddess has willed it. I was going to pass out soon, it was too much. Blood, there was blood everywhere. The yelling, the voices and the footsteps were everywhere now, close and I heard the voices yelling in English.

Mayari Tabbu’s eyes glowed green and gold, and in her lips — the spell unfolds. “Phantoms that show through light and day, come forth and lead the way! Find the book with the golden hook. Take a peak, take a look. Find the page that contains the rewinding spell, find the page that the shadows know all too well!” The hut shines bright as the Phantoms from day and night, crawled towards the hut — invisible from man’s line of sight.

What in the hell was really going on? "Take this" she boomed, shoving into my hands our family grimoire, I read the ancient writings on it 'The book of dark shadows'. Another uproar erupted from outside making me tremble in fear, as I clung tightly to the book I held in my arms, in desperate search for any form of comfort it could provide me with.
