LEXI. The party was almost over. There were already guests that had left, and only our closest family and friends were around. I was in a corner with many female friends near the entrance of the ballroom when someone opened the double doors, and the sound of a motorbike roaring to life reached my ears.

Joe reminded me. I shrugged. We’d talked about it again and again over the years. There was a certain amount of inconvenience with living way the hell out here, but at the same time, I liked the quiet. Besides, there were memories here. My parents had been the ones whose neighbors lived farthest away, so half the parties that we’d had when we were younger, and all the ones that we’d had since my parents had passed, had been held here.

I've come to think of the dull red brick building as a second home. I never joined in on the parties, but I enjoyed living with my roommate. I enjoyed the study groups in the main area. I enjoyed spirit week and all the camaraderie that came with it. But this coming year, I know I need to buckle down. I need to make sure I am far away from parties and all the lies that can be spread. I need my own place.

I might enjoy her company. I felt like this is my first time living outside my comfort zone. I used to have only Brent and mommy by my side, maids or driver. But right now, I feel the freedom that I already have in another world. That I will finally have a friend as well. She went straight to the area that I think leads to the kitchen.

She stood infront of me. "Hey Syrzzel, I forgot to tell you there's a party on my house tomorrow. I want you to come." She said smiling widely. Party again? The last time I attended a party my entire life changed. I catch a glimpse at Reniuexo who's just looking ahead, but he seems like listening to our conversation.
