Albeit, slowly, it didn’t even make a single sound. My mind instantly trailed back to the book I had previously read in the pack library. ‘There are 4 Reavers that rule the Underworld.’ Raphael was one of the names in the book. I was snapped from my thoughts when I looked up and found myself face to face with an eerily gorgeous man.

Cindy was silent as she and Daisy kept pace with Roger and me as we rode like our lives depended on it to safety. Roger had worked himself into a full lather by the time we’d traveled over the steep and narrow trails to reach the cavern. I nestled my face into his neck while I thanked him for his bravery and speed. It was no small feat to maneuver the treacherous trails in this part of the reserve at breakneck speed with only the few small slivers of moonlight that managed to infiltrate the trees to guide us. I was grateful for his superior night vision and my abnormal nerves of steel.

I went from walking next to Al, and Amber to falling far behind, dragging my blood-splattered body along the road following two strangers on a journey to I don't know where and I am too tired to give a damn. Because I have to be honest with myself and the truth is... I would give anything to live and not go back inside of a coffin. And I feel bad somehow because a part of me knows I am using them for protection from W.I.K.D... The police, rogue werewolves... My self. I don't know them— Amber and Al, and clearly, they didn't know me either.

I looked at Raziel who was already talking to his brother with a hand on his shoulder and a sneer on his face. Ramses was crying, and was determined not to let Ambrosia go. The other brother, Raphael, with the silver eyes, was still throwing everything he could muster at my shield. Master Rowen was trying to combat Ramses’ fireball and release Ambrosia. Just then another Reaver appeared and started throwing magic towards my shield. This was turning into a shit show. The ritual had already started, the spell was almost complete, and my shield was not in the best of conditions. I stole a glance at Ambrosia and I could see she had her eyes closed and was chanting something under her breath.

Not one bit. They encountered a few stray zombies on the two day walk home, but Rex handled things quickly and without mishap. It was as if dealing with walking corpses had become second nature to him. Kendra thought about mentioning the look in the eyes of the zombies who had surrounded the tree that she’d climbed into for safety, but then thought better of it. That conversation could wait for another day.

Lunch was brought to her room with a folded note on a silver tray. "Dress for dinner," whatever that meant. Amy wasn't sure if she was a prisoner or not, no matter what Hypo Man said. She decided to test the waters. With her K9 companion at her side, she made her way down the long hallway. Incredible western artwork was displayed on the walls. She wasn't familiar with the artists but she knew expensive art when she saw it. The staircase was beautiful and reminded her of Tara from Gone With the Wind, although she didn't feel like Scarlet. She didn't see anyone as she walked out the front door. The grounds were endless and she could see a path on the right side of the house. She walked through

I did a little twirl in the middle of the room and started combing the bookshelves to see what treasures I could find. I was just too excited to have found this place. I came across a smaller leather-bound book that had a weird symbol on the front and when I opened it, I realized that it was a history of the Hunter's. I decided to keep that book just in case I needed it. I was totally in my own world when I felt someone’s arms go around me and breath in my ear. "I see you found my favorite place in the house." My body shivered at the contact. I thought that I was going to melt into a puddle right then and there.
