A history neither of them is speaking out loud. Elias exhales through his nose, shaking his head. “You don’t even know what you’ve started.” Ethan smirks. “Then why don’t you enlighten me?” Elias doesn’t answer right away. He reaches into his pocket, pulls out his phone, and taps the screen. Then, with a slow, deliberate movement, he turns it toward us. My stomach drops. A picture fills the screen. My breath catches.
