The men alongside Jalen were all pirates. Scarface's real name was Rhinestone Welber, and he was the head of the pirates. The pirates were a group of good-for-nothings, and they had run into Jalen just half a month ago. They had planned to rob Jalen clean at the time, only for him to teach them a lesson and even take out two of their men. Rhinestone and his men were used to bowing to the strong and stepping on the weak, and they made Jalen their master the second they saw how powerful he was. Seeing as he did not know anyone in that foreign land, Rhinestone did not hesitate to take up the position.

I raised a brow, “Try me.” He grinned like a child who had been given permission to cause chaos, “Okay. Did you hear about the guy who invented Lifesavers?” I gave him a flat look, “Seriously?” “He made a mint.” I groaned, and it was genuine this time, “Nathan, I swear…” He shrugged, clearly pleased with himself, “There’s more where that came from. Want another?” I rolled my eyes but nodded, “Fine. I could use a few more bad jokes.”

He was so serious and everyone fall into silence. Before they ask, he already said the next word he was about to say earlier since they are like loading like a slow internet connection 'cause they didn't get what we meant. “This tastes funny,” continue by the old mister Lopez and then after that he burst out in laughter as if that was the funniest joke a someone who could ever heard.

SCARLETT'S POV. I was completely right. The party was boring as hell, and from the looks of things we weren't even near done here. And then even worse, the annoying as fuck MC who thoughts his jokes were so funny but they were obviously not, had been wasting so much time on the third segment of the programme which was jokes and riddles, that I almost threw my shoe at him. If I heard one more uncle joke coming from his mouth, I could just do it right there, damning all the consequences.

But Aiden said the pirate should’ve had a pet parrot instead.” Aiden’s voice came in the background. “Because pirates always have parrots, Mommy!” I laughed softly. “Well, I can’t argue with that.”
