"I never asked what you do." "Would you believe me if I told you I was a professional pirate, cruising the Thames looking for victims?" "No." "Then I shan't. I guess I'll have to tell you my day job." "I thought your day job was picking up broken girls and fixing them, and selling them into slavery?" "Nah, that's just a hobby I have on the side," he returned. "I'm collecting a set, and you were the last one I needed."

He asked as he looked at me with an amused smile. “I pretending to be a pirate.” I replied while raising my hand to air quote the word “pirate” “There's hardly a difference.” He replied with a smirk. “Pirates are scums that steal and probably kill people on the high seas for money and we were just little kids playing that role.” I replied that indignant. “So you all were playing the role of people killing and stealing?” He asked with a smirk on his face. “Absolutely not!” I exclaimed. “We were just a bunch of kids looking for a nonexistent treasure in the bushes.” I replied.

Then he grinned really big as she rolled her eyes at him. “Hey. Emily. Why are pirates called pirates?” Alan asked. Emily sighed deep and long. “Why Alan?” He looked at her and said: “they just ARRRRRRR..” Emily looked over him frowning but then she started slowly smiling. Then. She snorted. Alan looked at her happily. He was proud he finally got her to at least grin at one of his jokes. But Emily was more than grinning. She was all out guffawing at this point.
