“Betty right now is the last time I can dream about what happens when you see my face again,” I grabbed the bottle of shampoo from the soap rack as I dramatically sang the bridge part of the song under the shower rain head. “The only thing I wanna do, is make it up to you…” My head was covered with thick foam from the shampoo which was slowly leaking to my face and body because of the running water above my head. And when I got into the most dramatic part of the song, at least for me, I couldn’t help but open my eyes to pour out my emotions.

I push my dirty clothes through then shove the door closed. Grabbing the last two towels from the cabinet, I lay my clothes with one of the towels on the sink. I put the other, smaller towel over the shower curtain rod to wrap around my hair once I wash it.. It feels wonderful when you finally step into the shower, letting the hot water rain down on me, relaxing my muscles. I reach out and click play on my phone and the sound of a rock song fills the room. I shampoo my hair as I sway along with the song, singing. “Skin to skin.. blood and bone... You're all by yourself.. but you're not alone...” The sound of the door opening suddenly scares me and I knock off the bottles of soaps on the side

I was singing in the damn shower. Actually singing. Out loud. Not just humming under my breath like I usually did when I was relaxed or plotting something. I cranked the water to a comfortable temperature and let it splash over my hands, imagining the chaos that was about to unfold. A tune formed in my head, one that matched the rhythm of my plans, and before I knew it, I was singing aloud, my voice bouncing off the walls of the pristine bathroom.

The hot water pounded on my body, releasing all my aches and pains and also ridding me off all the sand that even managed to settle in my butt crack! Once the sand was all washed out, I slipped into the bathtub. Sydney settled herself between my legs and I began massaging shampoo into her hair. I wasn't much of a singer and I didn't know many songs appropriate for a child of her age so I began humming to the Unstoppable by Sia since that was the song I related to the most. Once I was done shampooing her hair, I grabbed the removable shower head that was attached the the bathtub and began rinsing her hair while she played with the bubbles in the tub.
