Alaric relaxed at last, that glint of amusement sliding back into his expression. “So, how was it really with her? I must know,” Alaric asked, grinning like an idiot. “Did she sleep through it? Glare at you the whole time? Just lie there quiet as a tomb the whole time?” He snorted. “Or did you two do that fighting-sex thing and curse each other out while you were at it? Give me something to work with here, Lord Glare.” I threw him a withering glare precisely for that nickname. He lifted both hands. “Alright, alright. Sorry, I could not resist.”

My cheek stung in pain as a ping sound like some one had just hit metal against another in my ear echoed. Tears clouded my vision and I blinked them in . I didn't want to give him the satisfaction to seing me cry. "Don't try to pull that litte act on my next time or else you'll pay dearly for it. Are we clear?" Silence "I asked if were clear or not?" A playful glint entered Gloria's eyes as she gestured to a nearby table where a packet of a product lay, its cover adorned with a photograph of a striking woman. "Am I as beautiful as the woman here?" she asked, her tone teasing, but with a hint of challenge. Lawrence chuckled softly, a sound of pure amusement, shaking his head slowly. "No comparison," he replied instantly, his eyes never leaving Gloria's radiant face, a silent testament to his conviction. "That woman on the packet cover doesn't hold a candle to your natural beauty, your vibrant presence."

I asked as Marcus’s hand settled on my waist and he spun me into the opening steps of the dance. “Was what necessary?” Marcus asked with the kind of innocent expression that fooled absolutely no one. “The death glare Darius just gave that perfectly nice boy.” “Oh, that wasn’t a death glare,” Marcus said, spinning me again. “That was more of a ‘please reconsider your life choices’ glare. They were just like hers jn color, the same bright blue eyes, those beautiful ocean eyes which could brighten up anyone's dull life. The girl tried to look down and break away from his dark gaze but he painfully held her chin shooting her a dangerous glare, "If you dare to look away again, I will pluck your fucking eyes out!" She flinched at his low growl making her instantly glue her eyes to his. The man loosened his grip and started the endless gazing in her eyes.

The silence stretched, taut and heavy, a battlefield where only our wills clashed. As we began a standoff that felt like forever, it happened. A subtle shift. It wasn't a softening of his gaze, not exactly. His glare was still as intense, but there was a flicker, a subtle disturbance in the glacial surface.
