His Mail Order Bride

His Mail Order Bride

Slowly, I walk towards it, sitting at the edge of the pond. Though the night is cold, I can barely feel it as I stare at the pond, a sense of calm and tranquility washes over me. I watch as the Koi fishes glide effortlessly in the water, their tails trailing behind them in a peaceful rhythm. For a second, I'm grateful for a place like this in this house. The noise in my head dies down and I want to cry, except there's no tears left in me. So I just sit there, numb.

Into Eve

Into Eve

She HAD to remain calm. “Close your eyes,” she silently commanded herself. “Don’t look at the faces! Don’t follow the voices! Don’t Die!… Close your eyes,” she silently repeated. “Don’t look. Don’t follow the voices. Don’t Die! … Close your eyes! Don’t look at the faces! Don’t follow the voices...Don’t Die!” Slowly, she found her rhythm. She could breathe again. She drew in a long deep breath. “Close your eyes,” she allowed her lungs to release. “Don’t look at their faces,” she drew in a deep breath. “Don’t follow the voices” She relaxed her lungs. Focus encouraged calmness. Calmness would allow her to think. “Close your eyes,” she continued.

Vows of convenience Hearts in Collision

Vows of convenience Hearts in Collision

The ocean shimmered below the balcony, waves catching the morning light like liquid glass. From this height, the city looked peaceful unaware of the chaos that had nearly broken us. I leaned against the railing, the wind tugging at my hair, still tasting the salt of Caelum’s kiss from last night. For the first time in what felt like forever, there was quiet inside me not peace, exactly, but something close. The kind of stillness that comes after surviving a storm. Inside, I could hear Caelum’s low voice through the open sliding door measured, commanding, his tone wrapped in that deceptive calm he wore like armor.

Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate

Blind Alpha And His Unwanted Mate

Just water and breath. The silence inside me feels strange, almost fragile, like it might break if I move too fast. Then something else spreads through me. Calm. Real calm. Not the sharp focus I slip into before a fight, not the hollow numbness after. This is softer. Deeper. It wraps around my chest and settles there. Every thought drifts away. Every edge smooths out. All that is left is this sense of peace and tranquility that I have no name for. What the hell is this?

the alpha is supposed to be blind, it’s the whole premise of the book, yet the author constantly describes him as “seeing” people’s blood shot eyes, watching people walk away, looking at himself. it’s sloppy, bad writing. i don’t recommend the “sometimes not quite blind alpha”
Sirena Mares
Interesting characters. Interesting werewolf lore. I just hope the author never "cures" the blind alpha as he actually is mostly capable anyway. The FL goes through quite the character development, and that's putting it mildly. The quality of the narration and writing itself is publish-worthy.

Rejected Omega Princess: Meet My Overprotective Brothers

Rejected Omega Princess: Meet My Overprotective Brothers

Her pulse hammered under my fingers. I let my focus drop to the mark. Not calling up a torrent. Just a sip. A breath. Warmth gathered there, gentle this time. There are no sharp edges. No invasive pull. I imagined that warmth as a small, soft wave. Not outward to lash. Inward, then out along our linked hands, like a tide of calm. The crescent prickled faintly under my touch, a soft silver light flickering once at its edge before flowing down my arm into our joined fingers.

The Haven Of Shadows

The Haven Of Shadows

That knowledge steadies me as surely as any touch. We move together like a single breath. Hands intertwine, lips claim, scent mingles with whispered names. Nothing is crude, everything is intimate. The world contracts to the heat of our skin and the slow unspooling of a knot that had been tied around my chest for too long. At the crest of something I cannot name without losing its sanctity, the fever flares, then folds in on itself, unspooling into a calm that settles over me like a warm cloak.

A vampire for the werewolf

A vampire for the werewolf

She lay down on the bank, letting the cool water soothe her. As she lay there, she felt her anger start to dissipate. The sound of the water and the rustling of leaves was like a lullaby, and she found herself calming down. Her senses, heightened by her anger, became more acute, and she could smell the scent of pine and the sound of birds singing. She closed her eyes, and for a moment, she felt at peace.

Song of the Quiet Flame

Song of the Quiet Flame

Elaine took a refreshing bath and slipped into clean pajamas, but her respite was short-lived. Stephen's arms ensnared her once more, his kisses reigniting with an intense heat. It was a long while before their fervor subsided. Feeling drained and sticky with sweat, Elaine was too weary and drowsy to consider another shower. She sat in a daze, her feet still not touching the floor. Suddenly, someone caught her wrist. A deep, chilling voice cut through the silence. "Where do you think you're going?"
