The man has a type.” “What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?” I heard dad growl from across the room. “Well, you know they were a thing back in the day,” Tobias said. “The guy has a thing for…extremely, and I mean extremely powerful women. There are only two that he knows of in this world.” He looked at me, “Your mom…and you. Mind you, I believe that if he could he would take you both and just…” he grimaced and shivered in repulsion.

I light the fire, the scent of woodsmoke and matches filling the small cabin, then go in search of Thor. He’s curled up in a ball on top of the bed, lying on what looks like another sheet. The vacuum bag is discarded on the floor, and he has his nose tucked under his tail, his breathing deep, even, and relaxed. As I enter the room, though, he cracks an eye open, looking at me, and I start. Instead of his eyes being their usual black, they are Tobias’s startling sandy-gold colour. My breath catches as he blinks, and I’m terrified the illusion will be gone when they reopen, but instead, he lifts his head.

She didn’t mention Travis’ name or allude to her knowing who it was but… “Don’t look so glum bud,” Tobias says walking in and immediately pouring himself a drink. Tobias takes a seat across from me, propping his feet up on the table, and leaning back in a casual way. He sips his drink letting out a satisfied sigh, licking the remaining liquid from his lips. “It's just a trip to the mountains. Nyctimus will give you the location of the tree. Retrieve the dagger, figure out who the gatekeeper is, and we're golden.”

"And what does matter? You won't take offense, will you?" "No... I suppose not... I'm just embarrassed..." Tobias chuckles. "Why?" He pokes my knee, grinning again. "Because you have short little dachshund legs?" I gasp. "Don't call them dachshund legs!" "But they are so short and cute." Tobias teases and grips my leg, squeezing it with his fingers. I pout at him, and he laughs. "Let's get out of here, shall we? The short lady needs to learn how to drive."

And Olivia is right on time, “Tobias. What happened to you?” She rushes in like a wind and so does Theo and asks, “What happened?” “Toby is… he is…” I say but stop and start sobbing. Olivia comes towards me and shakes my shoulder and asks, “Tell me. Why isn’t he speaking up? What happened? Why is he so gloomy? What is wrong with him?” “Toby has a tumor in his brain.” I sob that out. “What?” Theo asks while Toby tries to maintain his shock of my words too.

one of them barked. Two of them charged at me. I froze. My eyes shut tight, and I screamed. A full-on horror-movie scream. I braced myself for impact. For pain. For the worst. But instead of pain… I heard groaning. What? I opened my eyes...slowly. And there he was. Tobias. In all his furious, deadly glory. More men came inside and lunged at him. Tobias wasn’t just fighting, he was destroying. One guy was already on the floor, clutching his stomach. Another flew across the room like a bowling pin. Tobias kicked, punched, ducked, twisted, like some martial arts god dropped into the wrong storyline.

"Aren't you afraid of what Liam will do to you?" Tobias shook his head. "You're more important to me than my fear of Liam. I can't stand to see you suffer like this." He started cracking jokes, trying to lift my spirits. He told me stories about his training mishaps, about how he once tripped and fell into a mud pit during a run, earning the nickname "Mud Monster" for weeks. Despite myself, I found a small smile tugging at my lips. "You're going to be the best fighter soon," Tobias said, grinning. "Better than Linda, for sure."

he paused with a small smile. “You told who?” I ask. “Umbra,” he responds shortly. “He said his name was Umbra.” “After the game, he’d give me bread. Enough bread, I wouldn’t have to starve anymore. That’s what he said,” Toby explains. “You came here because you were promised bread?” I ask, and he nods. I stand there without knowing the next words to say or how to explain the situation. “Welcome, fighters,” the digital voice echoes.

it was rather harsh. Tobias smirked once he realized he finally pulled the trigger that he was trying to pull for so long. "That's more like my brother," Tobias said and ruffled his hair again. 'Oh dear, Leah. Your precious Igneel will now be my puppet...but a dangerous one.' Tobias thought and internally smirked. He was sure no one can win from him in power and mind games and to some extent he was right. He ended something before it even got started. It was the end of Leah's and Igneel's story which never really got the time to bloom.

He winked at Emma and Gregory, then quipped, “Ah, so you two are finally awake after disturbing the peace of the entire house.” Gregory shot him a glare, his eyes narrowing. “One more word from you, and I’ll gladly rip your throat out.” Tobias snickered, sticking his tongue out and playfully mimicking Gregory. “Blah blah blah, Mr. Big Bad Alpha.” The room burst into laughter as Tobias exaggerated his expressions, his antics breaking any lingering tension. As the laughter settled, Tobias’ expression turned serious, his usual humor replaced by a determined gaze. "Gregory," he began, his tone carrying an edge of urgency, "I need to discuss something important. It seems there's been an attack on
