I worked 14- hour days, and I barely slept.
“Perfect shot, Kai,” Levi said, over the radio.
“About our little deal,” he said, and leaned against the side of my Jeep.
“I was wondering what you were busy with, it’s been a few months since you’ve come to see me,” I said to Death as he watched me.
“I got a puppy, they need a lot of attention,” he said, and I frowned.
“A puppy?”
Death laughed, loudly. “You humans are so gullible.”
I opened the front door of the Jeep, and took the bottle of water from the backpack and opened it. “You just like to play mind games.”
