What about me? Questions, always questions. As if the answers would change the past. ‘How could you do this? We promised. What about the vows?’ Promises. That only turn is weak. Vulnerable. My father believed in promises too. He believed my mother would come back. Instead, she slit his throat and disappeared into the night, leaving me behind like trash. That’s what promises get you. Death. Ruin. Regret. Promises make us simple pawns in other people's games.

Right after he was done imagining a life where they were happy together. Yet when the time came, and he finally had her in his hold, his mind had just gone blank. Even after everything, he couldn't bring himself to hurt her. But he would, he promised. His pain deserved justice. He assured himself that the pain in his heart would lessen only when there would be tears in her eyes. Only when she would be as broken as he was, he will be satisfied. "Right away, sir." Daisy bowed dramatically, pretending to tip off her imaginary hat. Even now she realized, she liked the annoyance that clouded his features at her unnecessary theatrics.

He was getting under my skin and I didn’t want to have him know it. “We don’t know if I am pregnant yet and there is no way in hell that you are going to tell me what to do” I retorted. “I said that you are not going back to your old pack simply because it is not safe there. If you really feel like you don’t want to be here, then go somewhere else, just not there. After all, all those years ago when you were born and I was only seven years old, I made a promise that I will protect you with my life and I do not intend on breaking that promise any time soon” Rowan said.

I respond. Money can buy almost anything,g but it can't break loyalty that's cemented with mutual understanding, trust, and magic. I understood why she wanted to make this easier on both of us and that she was frustrated, but she was going a little too far now. "I have El, but they have signed a commitment to the throne that's binded with magic. I am not on the throne yet; my father is. They would be obligated to share what I'd be asking them to do," I explain.

During the wedding, visions of another woman in that gown kept flashing in his mind. Kimberly would look stunning in it. He owed her a grand wedding. Once Lotta was settled, he'd make it right with the biggest ceremony. He paced anxiously. "We'll go once Kimberly is safe." Lotta pouted. "But you promised. Every minute we're late means I see less of the northern lights." "They won't disappear if we're a bit late. Don't you have any conscience?" Richard snapped, losing it for a second. Lotta burst into frightened tears. "I-I didn't mean it. I just want to finish your promise on the bucket list sooner, so our lost baby in heaven knows his dad loved us."

I hadn't been looking at the camera but away and I liked the way the moon lit up just the right features. Below my picture, I began to type and felt my heart begin to pour out. "When I told you don't tonight I lied about what I meant. I meant don't leave, don't go fuck some other girl, don't go breaking my heart, don't give me a reason to turn my back, don't make promises you can't keep, don't lie to me..." Sighing I erased all of that and just hit send, sometimes things were better left unsaid.

It’s suffocating me, strangling me, and making me wish that I had never seen the light because now that I have seen it and felt it, I know what I am missing out on. When you told me that you will love me, hold me and cherish me every single day of my life, I had really believed you. I thought that you would keep your promises but I was wrong. I guess you got bored of me in past 6 years. Tell me Jonathan, is my heart so worn out now for you to hold, that you threw it away like trash. I believed you when you told me you love me, I believed in you when you kissed me and held me, I believed in your dreams and your soul but I guess it was all for nothing.

Just a flicker. Like a promise. Or maybe just hope.

“Of course I will. And we won’t stop until it’s all beautiful again.I’ll help you clean it, and we’ll plant more beautiful memories after we clean the withered ones. Not even just a single one left.” That night, I feel at ease. With him. He made me feel that I’m in peace. Even in just a few minutes, he made me feel like I have everything. He made me feel like there’s no problem, he made me feel so great. And I’m keeping that to myself, all of what he said. But I won’t take that as a promise. As promises are just words. And I can’t handle another fake promise, another broken promise. I’m done with that. I will just look and wait for actions. And I hope so, that he’ll make it happen.
