It’s almost been 8 months since Raven came to me. My gift from the goddess. My everything. My love. She is the best warrior we have, I found out through her dreams/memories of her parents that she was a warriors daughter. It made sense with how strong and fast paced she was during training, it also explained how she was paired with an Alpha, she was beyond strong, in both body and mind.

Cassidy waved me over, moving her bag so I could sit. I chuckled and nodded as I took the seat next to her. “Hi. I’m Riko Shiraishi,” I introduced myself. “I know. We have 3rd-period art class together,” she smiled. “I’m Cassidy Summers,” she added, offering her hand. I nodded and shook her hand. “Sorry I didn’t recognize you,” I sighed. “Not a problem. I remember my first day at Ravenwood. Its hell being the new kid,” she assured. “When did you transfer to Ravenwood?” I asked. “A couple of years ago. Things never change in how they treat the new kids, well how they treat the new girls,” she frowned.

’ I cringe at the images she sends me of us doing exactly that with her tongue hanging out in glee. “I understand the enormity of what I am asking Raven. The Moonstone for your mate’s freedom. I will give you a few days to think it over and meet you back here. But understand this, Rafe is not the only one. The majority of my army is comprised of wolves that are manipulated. Do you know what it’s like to have your mind manipulated, Raven?” he doesn’t wait for me to answer as he continues with glee.

Haven's POV I knew better than anyone that it would be better to fall off a cliff than get caught by the two wolves that were chasing after me. But even with how scared I was, I already knew how it was going to end. My dad and Raven, my twin always enjoyed using me as a hunt tool. Since I couldn't shift, and they knew I was gifted the power of immortality, they'd chase me every full moon and tear me apart knowing I wouldn't die.

I suddenly look up and notice that we’re surrounded by twice as many birds as before. My sudden anger is filled with fear. “Oh no…” I whisper. “What?” Raphael looks up. “They’re definitely planning to attack us,” I mutter. He looks at me with surprise and then begins to laugh. “Ravens don’t attack.” “Oh yes, they do! And you can’t make me think otherwise. They attacked me once.” He laughs even more now. I stare at him, not knowing I was a damn comedian. His laughter comes to a stop. “You do know that in the wild, ravens have a special relationship with wolves, right? They tend to be friends.” He looks up. “Ravens and wolves are really smart creatures.”

“You expect me to believe something like that?” “No. I expect you to listen.” I took a breath. “I have seen the future. Elara cheats on Alaric with Rowland. She gets beheaded. And Alaric… he becomes a tyrant. He becomes someone no one recognizes. He dies alone at a very early age. The Ravens were the only companions he had left.” Her smile faded. I continued. “The strange illness people think I have, the memory lapses… it is because I am not the owner of this body.”

“Executioner.” Ragnar staggered to Raven’s side, his hand gripping her arm, grounding her. “This is it. All of us, together.” Raven nodded, her fire steadying as Shadow pressed against her heart. Her gaze locked on Selene, who hovered above them, monstrous and radiant in her corruption. Flame. Storm. Fang. Blade. They would not bow. “Now,” Raven whispered, silver fire erupting from her skin as she launched skyward, her claws burning brighter than ever.

“And you, stranger? You appear from nowhere, whispering in our Luna’s ear, leading her into forbidden initiation, why should we believe you?” Raven’s wolf snarled at the insult. She spoke before Axel could. “Because if Malrik hadn’t been there, I’d be dead and if you don’t believe me, then believe this.” She raised her hand. The crimson fire surged beneath her skin, curling into her palm before exploding outward in a crackling flame that scorched the earth at her feet. Gasps rippled through the pack wolves. “Wolf fire…” one whispered. “No,” Eldran muttered, paling. “Something else.”

Raven tilted her head like she was listening to something none of us could hear. “Under everything,” she said. “Still trying to reconnect. Still waiting for me.” Marek’s expression tightened. “That’s not what it was,” he said carefully. Raven looked at him and this time there was no confusion in her eyes. “It is,” she said quietly. “It’s not a god. It’s not fate.” Her hand lifted slightly and silver fire gathered without hesitation. “It’s a containment system that turned into a parasite after the kingdom broke it by accident and kept feeding it fear for centuries.”

"I'm on the summit of Mount Cashmoore." Her face twisted in disbelief. "That's impossible! Without Snowviper, you'd have died from the heat on the way!" I smiled. "Guess I forgot to mention—Blazewing flies faster than a rocket. So really, I should be thanking you for handing him over to me." I ended the call and watched her through the bronze mirror. Raven was furious, throwing things across the room. Snowviper came out to see what was going on. Raven ran at him and started hitting and kicking, even slapping him across the face when he wasn't expecting it.
