The car stops in front of a house where a man and a woman—middle-aged—walk out to greet me. I step out. “Good afternoon.” I offer a small bow. “Roland, how are you?” the woman speaks first. “I’m Rachel, Diana’s mother.” She opens her arms for a hug. I do not care for hugs. Or people. The hood covered most of his face, and his entire body radiated killing intent. With each step forward, the lobby grew more scorching. "Where's Chloe Sutton? Where are you keeping her?"

I cross the dark room, catch the curtain fluttering in the wind and look out of the window. There’s a thick oak tree growing right in front of the house, its branches so close to the walls that they have to be trimmed every spring. Silence flushed between us, stretched around the entire room. Raven pulled a black hoodie from the wardrobe and wore it. She was fully prepared to leave now. “I’m going with you…Anywhere” my voice broke the silence. She added a spray on her body, its fragrance filling the entire room. Before she finished I was at the door with a broad smile waiting for her to finish. “ Get out of my way” Her voice struck commandingly. “This isn't your territory. I’m coming with you” I insisted. Raven’s face sparkled with a minute of anger and frustration.
