Rise Of The Betrayed Omega

Rise Of The Betrayed Omega

Of course. "I, uh..." I clear my throat. "I should tell you, I'm not very good at this." Sofia giggles. "It's easy! You just read the words and do the voices." "The voices?" "Yeah! Like this—" She takes the book back and opens to a random page, reading in an exaggerated growl, "'I am the big scary wolf!'" Then she switches to a tiny, squeaky voice, "'Oh no, please don't eat me, Mr. Wolf!'"

A Prey For My Enemy

A Prey For My Enemy

Had been open for a while, probably longer than the moment I'd just noticed. I kept reading. I read the next chapter, and the one after, and I made my voice as clear and even as I could, the same way I did when I read to myself but better, the way you unconsciously improve any performance when you know you have an audience. At some point the door closed. Softly like the whisper of wood on stone. I sat in the lamplight with the book open on my lap.

Claimed by the three Alphas

Claimed by the three Alphas

I should just let things be. A soft, giggling sound broke through my thoughts. I looked up to see Apollo sitting cross-legged on the rug, an audio picture book open in front of him. He was pressing the buttons on the side, making the book read out loud in a cheerful voice. “Sun!” the book announced. “The sun is bright in the sky!” Apollo clapped his little hands. “Sun!” he repeated, although his pronunciation was off. I forced a small smile. “That’s right, Apollo. Sun.”

Chasing Rejected Mate

Chasing Rejected Mate

Wolf was so worried that he couldn't bear it: "What do you mean by understanding quietly?" It was done! Hooked. The old lady was very happy: "Grandma, I will show you a shortcut... Quick, go and help grandma get the phone..." Alpha immediately went and brought the old lady’s glasses. Putting on her glasses and taking the phone, the old lady clicked on it. “Grandma, what are you doing? Listening to audio novels?” The old lady clicked on an audio novel APP. “Well, reading books will strain your eyes, and listening to novels will make the room more noisy and lively, and you can also have fun. Nowadays, although novels are terrible, they are still very useful to pass the time..."

"Miss Sasha will give you the book we are reading. We are on Chapter Eight." Sasha handed me a book, The Adventures of Adeline. "Thank you Miss Sasha." I smiled. "I hope this is okay with you." She looked shocked but said, "Yes. You are really good with the pups. Ashley clearly likes you." "All right pups! Chapter Eight." I said as I turned to the page. I started reading, Ashley leaned against my chest. As I read, I tried to use different voices for the characters. The pups laughed, I held their attention easily. Miss Sasha sat down at her desk and worked on some paperwork. As I finished the chapter, I said "The adventures will continue, but that is for another day! Let's get back to our des

MARRIED TO THE DEVIL BILLIONAIRE FOR REVENGE

MARRIED TO THE DEVIL BILLIONAIRE FOR REVENGE

A book was different. A book was permanent in a way that speeches were not. A book existed in the world independently of whether I was in a good place when it was read, independently of the specific room and the specific audience and the specific night. A book could be read by my children when they were old enough to read it. A book could be read by people who hated me, people who had opinions about what I should have done differently, people who had never experienced anything adjacent to what I was describing and would bring that absence to the reading. A book required a different kind of exposure than standing at a podium.

He Wants Me More After Divorce

He Wants Me More After Divorce

I opened it to the page where I’d left off and I started reading aloud. Not loudly. Just above a whisper. Enough to fill the space between the chair and the bed without competing with the machines. I read because reading aloud is what I did when Harrison was small and couldn’t sleep. In the council flat, in the single bed, with his feet pressed against my shins and his breathing the loudest sound in that room. I read him everything—newspaper articles, cereal boxes, the ingredients on shampoo bottles when I’d run out of library books. He’d fall asleep to my voice.

My Blind Princess

Alana laughed. Eva smiled and stood from the windowsill and walked to the aisles of books. She picked up the one book with no Braille on the spine and walked back to the windowsill. “Hey Alana, can you read this to me? I really want to know what it says” Eva whispered as she held out the book for Alana to grab.

Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend

Rewinding My Reaper Boyfriend

"We'll make new sounds. Better sounds." "Like what?" "Like the ocean. Like music. Like... me laughing." Elion laughed. It was forced, but it was there. Cale listened. He closed his eyes. "That is a better sound," Cale admitted. "Yeah. Focus on that." They sat on the couch. Cale picked up The Hobbit. "Read to me," Elion said. Cale opened the book. "Chapter Two. Roast Mutton." He read. His voice was steady, rhythmic. The sound of the words filled the room, pushing back the echoes of gunshots and car crashes.

Out of My League

Out of My League

She smiled when she saw me in the rocking chair, still with a book open. “Your turn?” I queried. She nodded and crossed the room to trade babies, hands fluent in movement and accustomed to the tasks. I pushed myself out of the rocker as she nestled into her place, Leo now in my arms, her body warm and relaxed against my shoulder. She reached for a different book, The Polar Express, and as she opened it, something about her entire bearing seemed to soften. She didn’t read it like a story. She sang it like a secret. Her voice undulated and meandered, encasing each syllable with a sense of awe. And when she got to the line about believing, she stopped, just briefly, as if that part had more wei

This is a love at first site story you can actually believe happens in real life. The twists and turns make you swoon with how sweet they are to each other when doing normal every day things as well as protecting and defending each other from their families.
