Rain was pouring heavily, leaving some loose strands of hair dangling around her drenched face. Her black converse bonnet is soaking wet and it felt so frore on her head. Calming herself, she listened to the voice in her head, having no other options for help. The creature before her kept grunting as if speaking in a language she doesn't understand. Rosa said, throwing a dry humorless chuckle at Storm, whose expression was stoic and unreadable. “I am sure you’ll be fine,” Storm said, getting up to walk her friend out of the apartment. It was going to get lonely, too lonely for her. Rosa could already tell. She wasn’t sure if Damon would let her out of the house often or if he would be okay with Storm visiting. Nonetheless, Rosa knew she wasn’t going to live like a prisoner with him. Storm said her goodbyes, holding on to Rosa for a few more minutes than usual. Her normally gleeful self is now emotional and a little teary.

Storm had taken off his jacket and was wearing only a t-shirt. I could see that his lower arms had a bunch of tattoos. He was actually pretty fucking good-looking for the son of a dickface. Kneel, and I will spare the children.” Raven tilted her head, Shadow pulsing around her. “You think fear will break me?” The Wraith’s smile was cold. “It always does.” Raven lifted her blade, letting Shadow slide along the steel, black flames licking along the edge. “We are Shadowstorm,” she said, voice low but clear. “And we don’t kneel.” Lightning cracked in Ragnar’s palm, a sharp scent of ozone filling the air. The Wraith’s smile vanished. “So be it.”

"Get SpeedBlade, I got us covered." JumpStart running off, I look at Storm as he wipes the slime off. "You're going to regret that," he says, pointing at me. As more bolts gather in his arms, Storm's is getting ready to fire but before he can, I reach for smoke arrows from my quiver. However, I don't put them into my bow. Instead, I break off the tip and throw them against the ground. The hallway is quickly filled with black smoke. With his targets gone, Storm won't fire.

Lightning crackled in the sky, and a silvery-blue mist appeared. The silvery-blue mist thickened around the battlefield, swirling like a storm and drawing every pair of eyes while lightning crackled above. A strange stillness fell over the chaos, while time itself was holding its breath. Then, out of the mist, two figures stepped forward, Jordyn and Dan. Their faces set with steely determination. Behind them, a massive army of hybrids and witches emerged, their presence crackling with power that pulsed in the air.

"She is hunting for something. She knows about Nicole, but I do not know how much she has truly figured out yet." It does not matter what she knows, Storm growled, baring his teeth in my mind. His protective instincts were rising, thick and aggressive, flooding my chest with heat. We have the twins now. We have Maple and Rosy. If that female tries to touch our pups, I will tear her apart myself. I will not let her near them.

Ryu turned to me, blood streaking his cheek, and his eyes—those deep, wild eyes—met mine. “We end this here, or we’ll be running forever,” he said. I nodded once. We wouldn’t run. We would rise. From above, the thunderclouds broke open, and a sudden downpour began. Rain fell in heavy sheets, soaking the sands of the arena, washing away blood but not the tension. The storm felt almost symbolic—cleansing and chaotic. Ryu’s wolf eyes glinted under the lightning as he stalked forward, every muscle tense. I followed at his side, no longer a victim, no longer a prisoner. I was Samantha Blackthorn, daughter of fire, and the storm wasn’t just around me—it was inside me.
