He’s looking at Jae and Rogan with worried eyes, "This is my best friend, Remington Wallace. He's about to leave." "Yeah... we have school tomorrow," he mumbles, but then he forces himself to shake both Rogan and Jae's hands. I can tell Jae squeezes his hand a little too hard because Remy winces and Jae smiles with evil delight, "Nice to meet you, Sir."

I saw him and Alpha King came to me and said, "I need to leave." I nodded at him and looked into the interrogation room. The rogue was bruised everywhere. His left ear was bleeding and he appeared very weak. He looks like he is suffering from severe pain. The guards made the rogue sit on the chair in the middle of the room. A headlight was on above the chair. Alpha King and Beta May entered the interrogation room. Beta May asked the rogue, "Who are you?" The rogue looked at Beta with dull eyes and replied, "Connor." Beta May asked, "Connor, how do you become a rogue?"

“We already have Tyron as the next Gamma,” “Let’s see what King can do first; if he can do anything. Rogue is a good fighter, smart and quick and he has strength. I don’t think he was born to be a rogue, more like a Beta. His wolf is almost as big as yours.” I hadn’t decided where Rogue would fit in, but I hated to waste his talents and give him a warrior position. Unfortunately, his lack of speech was a hindrance, despite his skills. It was ok to mind-link but he needed a voice if he was going to communicate with Pack Alphas or other kingdoms.

He studied me for a moment, and I couldn't tell if he was surprised I didn't already know or if he'd expected this question. "Kieran Croft," he said. The name hit me like a physical blow. Kieran Croft. I knew that name. Everyone in the territories knew that name. It came with warnings and whispered stories and a reputation that made other Alphas nervous. Kieran Croft was the Rogue Alpha, the feared leader of Silverthorn, the man accused of betraying the coalition and standing outside the Alpha King's trust. He was the Alpha other packs avoided, the one parents used to scare their children into behaving, the one who operated by his own rules and didn't answer to anyone.
