EIGHT MONTHS LATER ADIRA “And what about this one Luna?” “That’s rosemary Ashley,” I answered with her gasping, nearly having me laugh. “What does it do?” Remy questioned with her eyes wider. They could never say no to an opportunity to play with dirt. I took Remy in, her hands muddy as she pat them on the soil around the tomatoes. “I mainly use it to cook Remy.” She gasped. Anything I would say to them would have them wide-eyed and gasping.

“That so?” I swallowed hard but didn’t look away. “Yes.” The rogue smirked. “Then you’re either very brave… or very stupid.” Probably both. Damien’s patience thinned. “Are you going to let us through or not?” The rogue studied him for a long moment. Then, to my surprise, he stepped aside. “Welcome to the borderlands,” he said, grinning. “Try not to get killed.” ⸻ The rogue territory was unlike anything I had ever seen.

Harrison offered. “Thanks, but no thanks. Being rogue suits me if you haven’t noticed. It lets me walk in and out of any pack I need to and makes it easier to blend into things when I’m around humans,” Hayden said. “Let’s go inside so I can talk to Mimi and find out everything she knows.”

Both of them had scars on their face, neck and even the exposed part of their arms. Frankly, if I wasn’t an Alpha, I would have been intimidated.
