Maya looked at her team—smaller than planned, less equipped than needed, but flexible in ways Victor's regimented team couldn't match.
"We become insurgents. We stop playing his game. We make him play ours."
"Explain," Morrison demanded.
"Victor's teams are moving on main routes. Predictable paths. We go off-road. Through terrain his vehicles can't handle. We take risks his careful planning won't allow. We reach the facility by path he doesn't expect."
"That's suicide," Torres objected. "Off-road travel in winter through unknown terrain?"
"It's surprise," Maya countered. "Victor expects us to follow. We lead. We find new path. We beat him by refusing to race on his terms."
