My body arched to meet his, and with every thrust, something electric sparked under my skin. "Nathan," his name escaped my lips in a trembling whisper. I wasn't sure if I was begging him to slow down or go faster. Our breathing filled the room, mixing with soft moans and gasps. His scent surrounded me completely, and something deep inside me felt like it was breaking apart and reforming all at once. After what felt like forever, I noticed his movements becoming more urgent, more desperate. I could feel him growing tenser inside me. He groaned and trembled above me, lost in sensations I was only beginning to understand.

“You’re staring at each other again.” Noelle’s small voice cut through the thick silence. Sebastian stepped back immediately, releasing Nyra’s arm as if he’d been caught doing something forbidden. Nyra straightened, ignoring the sting in her grazed arm. “We’re not.” “You are,” Noelle insisted. “Like in the movies before they kiss.” Sebastian cleared his throat. “Enough.” Sirens wailed outside the lodge. Guests were being ushered away, security shouting instructions. The scent of gunpowder still hung in the air, mixing with pine and melted wax from fallen candles.

A cluster of women from their graduating class huddled together, clutching books and speaking in excited whispers. “What’s going on over there?” he asked. Luke rolled his eyes. “That author I just mentioned. Apparently she writes these steamy paranormal romances that half our class is obsessed with.” He lowered his voice. “Rumour has it she’s a wolf, but no one knows which pack.” Otto’s curiosity piqued. He’d never been much of a reader, but something pulled him toward the gathering crowd. Maybe it was just an excuse to escape the awkward reunion conversations, or perhaps a distraction from thoughts of Nora and his impending arranged mating.

Jame’s POV The cave smelled like blood moon magic, damp earth, and Cassandra. That should have been the least dangerous thing in the world after everything that had just happened, but it wasn’t. Not with her curled against my side like the gods had carved her from temptation itself and dropped her into my arms with a curse burning between us. My pack was outside somewhere, hunting me like a traitor. Her coven was worse. At least wolves came with teeth, claws, and accusations loud enough to shake the trees. Witches came quietly, with whispers, bone charms, and spells tucked under their tongues.

com - "Femme Fatale: The Queen Of Chess" (Has similar tech-mafia themes as that was my favourite plotline personally in contemporary romance I'd suggest to give it a read.) "Bitten By A Loveless Noble Vampire" (Is a wonderful dark medieval romance with vampires and other mythological stuff. I love how gory and dark it is with the utmost sexual tension between the duo.) "Criminally God" (Is a Male Lead book with a system, demons and a vampire main character. I was inspired by Eoin Colfer and fused his style with my own and in fantasy genre.)

But the best part in both the books and the TV show is the unresolved tension between the three protagonists. 56-58. The Smoke Trilogy BY TANYA HUFF Same author, but not as successful. A series of three books, Smoke and Shadows, Smoke and Mirrors, Smoke and Ashes. The series takes place in Vancouver with Henry Fitzroy and his sometime-lover. More occult crime. Didn't do much for me. 59. Interview With The Vampire BY ANNE RICE Clearly one of the first reluctant vamps. I personally do not like the gothic trappings of the Anne Rice world, but this is clearly a book that influenced the genre. There are many other Rice novels, The Vampire Lestat, etc.
