Just as we neared the final bend toward the cave's rear exit, a low rumble vibrated through the ground beneath us. We stopped in our tracks. "Did you hear that?" one of the girls whispered, eyes wide. Then we heard it again, a distant roar, like something tearing through the earth itself. A loud, echoing BOOM shook the tunnel, followed by what sounded like gunfire or explosions and screams in the distance. "Shit," Stella hissed, crouching low. "Something's going on out there." My wolf stirred violently inside me, scratching against my chest. My skin prickled with unease.

Ryker told me as the bike started to move. Then, I burped. I shut my eyes in embarrassment, hoping Ryker didn't hear that. I had burped several times today, it seemed like I was hell bent on embarrassing the living daylight out of myself today. Soon, we arrived at a place that was full of trees. It looked like a park but not exactly a park. Ryker led me through a lonely path. We reached a particular place that was filled with rocks and it formed a hill.

Rocks and rubble tumbled down, causing Eva to suddenly feel a wave of fear. "Go!" Xander yelled, grabbing her hand and pulling her ahead. They ran quickly through the crumbling tunnel, the sound of rocks falling reverberating through the area. Eva felt her heart racing in her chest, and her legs ached from the exertion. They had to escape. Right when they got to the end of the passage, the ground collapsed beneath them again. Eva experienced a sensation of plummeting, with the world whirling uncontrollably. She extended her arm in an attempt to grasp onto something, anything to halt her fall.

Richard checked his watch, “In five minutes we have an appointment.” “Here?” I must have been wide eyed because he laughed. “In the catacombs.” My heart raced. Watching the titillating display, I said, “I’m nervous.” Indeed, it was like standing on the edge of the cliff at Red Rocks Park in Vermont. It had been my first tombstoning dive, and the cliff was seventy-five feet high. Spectators lined the rocks on the cliffs, waiting for the next spectacle. This was something far more dangerous. A section of the tunnel began to crumble, a cascade of dust and debris raining down around him. He scrambled to his feet, his heart pounding in his chest, his eyes wide with terror. The rumbling intensified, as if the earth itself was trying to swallow him whole. He turned and ran, pushing himself to his limits, sprinting as fast as his legs would carry him.

DIAMOND POV: I can almost hear it simply because of how loud it is, the sound of rubble crashing and tumbling along the sides of the cave walls. I can feel a whole section of the tunnel converging into itself, and I don't even get the time to feel fear.

Jack only gaped with a wide open mouth that was almost touching the ground and asked me, “What in the Goddess name was that?” Even I was stunned and all I could do was staring in confusion. “I…I don’t know…I just touched it like you said…” Jack furrowed his eyebrows and placed his hands on his hips, “you know what? Try again…touch it” No sooner had he said this we heard a deep rumbling sound coming from the pits of the cave. It was a sound that we had never heard before, a growl and a menacing roar that wanted to tear him apart. It was so startling that Jack almost slipped and fell face down on the ground that was slick with the black liquid as well.
