Romans & histoires Sacrificial Bride To The Feared Lord Hastings

"Then we'll make them regret coming." Hours later, when the hunters finally caught us, the moon was high, shadows moved between the trees, half a dozen men in black armor, the Veylen crest gleaming on their chests. The leader sneered. "By order of Lord Jethro, hand over the traitorous bride or die." My breath ceases immediately, because I can't believe Jethro ordered this! Tristan's dagger glinted. "Try to take her, I dare you." The men shifted, weapons raised, but their leader's eyes slid to my stomach. "The child belongs to Lord Jethro! Surrender right now, and perhaps you might live."

Draven nodded, his face hardening, “let’s continue. “Somehow, she managed not to murder him in his sleep, but after that day, Hilda completely changed. She threw her previous reluctance to the winds and fully involved herself in every bit of the wedding preparations. Finally the day of the wedding arrived. The king ate and drank with his men for hours, but when the time came for the ceremony, the bride was nowhere to be found. The king rose up instantly to go search for her but he soon found himself unable to move. It was as if all the strength had been drained out of him. At that moment when he was stuck between fear and shock, Hilda returned and slit his throat in front of all his men.”

"The elders won't like your idea sacrificing an innocent life for your damn family tradition-" "Sacrificing an innocent life, seriously?" Vincent laughed. "How sure are you that she will die? I only said it's possible. But what if she can get through it? Melrose is not an ordinary lady, Reed. I have faith that she can pass it, and if she would, that means she is worthy of me. She will be my queen-" "It is you who is not worthy of her, Vincent." Vincent's lips fell apart. Then he shut it and grinned before gripping the glass tightly until it exploded in his hand. His blood dripped on the floor along with the blood from the glass. "What? Don't tell me you like my bride?"

I wasn't crazy, I just wanted to say what I felt. "Yeah. I wish I could do that, you know but I guess I can't so it would mean..." "Silver Heights." He answered for me. "Yes." "What makes you think the Royal Pure Blood's would listen to you. Especially you. The ones taken are all mere castle servants. You're also a castle servant. You're going to speak against the Lady Esther of Silver Heights herself. A woman who is rumored to be the Dark Prince's bride and a noble. Not to mention her family will be there and you could easily get killed and-"

But she doesn’t move. “My lord, I am your noble consort. I have a right to know why you brought a dog into the citadel.” I get off from my seat with vampire speed and grab at her neck. Her eyes are buldging but she doesn’t make a sound. The sapphire necklace that is around her neck loosens and hit the rug with a thud. I bend to whisper to her ear. “If you ever say such things again, I will forget who you are and send you back to your family.” I let go of her neck, red angry mark forms but soon clears off immediately as she heals.

“Well, aren’t you desperate to see her?” Blair remarks. “Come, let’s go to the main hall.” “Wait, what? you just paid, correction bribed, to meet with the bride?” “No, I bribed to let her know that I’m here.” I clarify. “What?” “Think about it, as a mistress, what did you fear most during your dates with Christoper?” “That Victoria would walk in and…steal the show.” She drawls as if slowly realising my intention. “Exactly!”

The grinding metal sound scraped against my nerves. My eyes widened. "My lady, I'm your husband… Shouldn't we be spending our wedding night together?" A snort of laughter came from the players' table. A muscular man named James Gibson shook his head and said, "Never seen someone this stupid. You walked right into it. The ghost bride needs a human sacrifice, sure. However, she also needs a husband. And any player who becomes her husband gets chopped into pieces. She hates men the most." I had just escaped one death trap and walked straight into another!

Harrison laughed, explaining, "Your Highness, there's no need to worry. Only unmarried men are allowed to participate. Moreover, the bride’s chosen one is positioned favorably, and there are attendants around to ensure that the person she chooses catches the ball." Understanding now, Ethan smiled, "I see." Harrison pulled Ethan closer, his eyes sparkling, "Your Highness, there’s a bride about to throw her ball over there. Let’s go see!" The two quickly made their way towards the crowd gathered below a balcony. The bride, adorned beautifully, her face radiant and excited, wore a flowing red gown. Her face glowed with anticipation. She scanned the crowd below, searching for her chosen one. Sud

I expected her to run from him, to leap into my arms begging me to forgive her, to redeem her. I was ready for that. I wasn't ready for this. She turns her back from me, facing the thug like a flower turning to the sun, her hand reaching out towards him, seeing him underneath his disguise. "Let one of my brides take her," Hazardous, AKA Hunter Grant, requests of one of the most dangerous men in New York. "I want to make sure she doesn't cause any mischief." And Mr. DeBrassy agrees, nodding and smiling in Hunter's direction. Treating her like he would any mob wife--as something precious.

I heard the trumpet sound and the voice announcing our presence behind the heavy door of the pavilion. “Introducing Duke Jude Hurst, Lord of Livingstone Castle and his daughter, Lady Dahlia Eileen Hurst, the soon-to-be bride and queen of Talandor!” Soon-to-be bride and future queen of Talandor - those are very heavy positions that were now resting heavily on my shoulder. I sighed. I need to bear it just at least for tonight.
