The smaller screamed as blood splattered across the pond, soaking the ground. A gigantic, flaming golden eye met Caelia’s gaze. She shuddered, feeling the tremor in the earth as the larger beast's grip tightened, a sickening crunch echoing through the air. Hot blood splattered her legs as the monstrous dragon tore the smaller creature away, lifting it with ease before throwing it aside, the lifeless body falling to the sand in three separate pieces. The battered wings lay broken and still.

I headed to take a shower while trying to remember anything about her, anything to locate her. As I closed my eyes under the water, my wolf Leo connected with me, saying, 'Mate!'
