Millicent would bring more than just snakes to a fight like this. “What the hell is that?” I asked, squinting as a creature stomps forward carrying a club. “It looks like the ugly sister of a troll,” someone snickered behind me. But then more of them appeared. “They must be something Millicent conjured,” I told Killian, not wanting to admit I didn’t know what they were. An almighty shriek hurts my ears as creatures appear carrying axes. Tala growls. I squint to get a better look. The creatures have pointed ears and huge razor teeth appear. I have seen nothing like them in my life. “What the hell?” I said, gulping.

The more, the merrier.” Tasha replied and Arnold stepped in to walk beside us, making me the middle man. “Alright so it's time for some midnight stories from dear Arnold, anything you have for us Arnold?” Tasha asked Arnold, who smiled. He was obviously pleased with her words. “Hm… I could share my experience killing the strange creatures that live here. Okay, what is your opinion of the scariest and strangest creature?” Arnold asked as he folded his arms.

Hadwin said naming the story that changed my life forever due to the King, but Darren only shakes his head in response. “No, it’s a book called The Gruesome Tales, it’s a bunch of gruesome stories comprised into one book. It’s there a story of these flesh eaters live. It’s said there is only one person that can save us all from these creatures, this person is a werewolf like us but was born with amazing powers. It’s said she will go to battle to defeat these creatures and save everyone.” He smiled retelling the story he had read, but for me, this only resembled a nightmare, it was explaining my life.

So much time passed she worried about her baby. “Excellent idea. Let’s hope she’ll talk to us. Before we go through anything else in that book we should worry about?” Greta didn’t want to remind Gabby that they still didn’t know who performed the ritual that put the curse in place. “It talks of the fair folk a lot and to appease them always. They still pass those traditions down from generation to generation, and we put it right into the traditions of the inn, so it becomes a unique part of the visit. There’s also talk about spirits and ghosts. Like they are two different things.”

She opened him up before everyone was about to get home and scared Zac that if he told this to anyone then she would lock him again. When I returned home, I looked for Zac all over the house but couldn't find him. “Have you seen Zac?” I asked Caroline “No.” She answered and continued using her phone. I went to my room and closed the door. I sat on my bed and heard something strange. Someone was weeping. Anyway, he kept saying that there are horrible creatures that lurk in the darkness here… While growing up he told me the story of the time when he was ten years old, his dog ran out of his family home—this townhome, the home I’m just about my home until my dad gets out of jail and the social worker says I can go back. He goes on and says that he watched his dog die that night being eaten alive by a wolf-like humanoid that he himself barely made it back home to safety. Then there were these stories of the locals being blood-sucking vampires and all the BS surrounding that subject. Oh and the witches of the forest and the great lake—supposedly they lure pregnant women to their deaths and drown

Before there were doors between worlds, there were stories. They whispered from hearth to hearth and ship to ship— of wolves that ran like midnight wind, of foxes with nine tails and nine more tricks beyond that, of fae who looked like carved moonlight and smiled like knives. Humans loved those stories—as long as they stayed in books and bedtime. The moment a story breathed, the moment a pair of eyes glinted from a tree line or a shadow stepped out of the corner of a room, humans did what humans do best when they’re afraid.

According to her, it was a story used to scare and caution children in their times, but with time nobody heard of these stories again. Stories of scary creatures coming out from the pit of hell to torment mankind. Creatures who once rose from the darkness - seeking domination over the earth, wanting revenge on mankind. It was just in tiny pieces because she didn't recall the full story but she remembered the mark and the creatures who bore them. It was a magical mark - and the names of these creatures are Vorlak.
