CHICAGO: Emma had been writing a lot lately. Writing constituted one of her hobbies and she cherished it because it gave her the liberty to create characters and manipulate fate. As a teenager, she would write poems and fictions and Pearl her mother always loved her writings. She stopped writing few years ago and would blame her schedule. Now that she had moved to Chicago and was leading a new life, she had been writing whenever she got the chance. As she lay of her bed thinking of words that will rhyme, she decided to read out the content to herself. She loves reading out loud to herself as her content take the first person in narration and it was almost as if she was speaking to herself. S

I wrote for myself. The words came slowly at first, then faster—as if they’d been waiting, buried beneath all the silence and shame. I didn’t worry about grammar or if the sentences made sense. I just let it spill out—the ache, the betrayal, the love I lost, and the pieces of myself I wanted to find again. When I finished, I folded the paper gently and slipped it into the side pocket of my suitcase. Maybe I’d burn it one day. Or maybe I’d keep it, to remind myself how far I’d come.
