The subterranean sea tunnel was a tomb of silent, black basalt. Deep beneath the glacial shelf, the Shadow’s Wake cut through the subterranean current, its shadow-infused hull gliding smoothly through the dark water without making a sound. The only light inside the narrow vessel came from the low, amber glow of the tactical displays and the warm, golden-shadow radiance emanating from our joined hands. Commander Mira stood at the iron helm, her sharp eyes fixed on the sonar screen. Beside her, Gideon and I watched the digital depth gauges tick lower.

"Which is why I have you" Shailyn chuckled, putting her hands behind her head. She didn't need any packing anyway, Skylar would store everything. "I don't know where Shadow land is" she slowly sat upright and fold her legs together. Her eyes glazed a bright orange and a map appeared on the bed before her. She happily picked it up, instantly going through the patterns. "Shadow land is located in the depths of Galveston"

CHAPTER THREE Cooper’s Cove lay a mile to the east of Dorsal Finn’s harbour. As with other areas in the town, the large cave, accessible only at low tide, had bad folklore attached to it. The place was known locally as Coven Cove, and its association with witchcraft was no secret amongst the older generations. They took delight—especially around Halloween—in scaring kids with talk about the coven of witches who used to frequent the area, one of whom allegedly wrote The Book of Shadows, a grimoire of great power.

He was troubled by the questions, but he brushed them aside and concentrated on the job. The following day, they cautiously and purposefully ascended the ridge. I didn't answer I just walked past them to the center of the room. I exhaled slowly, rolling my shoulders, pushing out the last of the tension still clinging to me. "What do we have?" Trevor didn't hesitate. He walked to a desk, holding up a few sheets of paper. "Our scouts confirmed an exact location. Shadow Blood pack, it's on the coast of the Northern District. A stronghold. It’s the base." Trevor read out. The prisoner didn't lie. Atleast now we had an exact location. Nothing was standing between me and my sweet revenge.

--- ### The Shadow of the Moon As we walked toward the doors, leaving the warehouse behind, I looked up at the sky one last time. The violet moon was fading, returning to its dull grey color. But as the light died, I saw something moving across its surface. A massive, black shadow. It looked like a hand reaching out to grab the Earth. "What is that?" I asked, pointing upward. The Scavenger woman didn't look up. She kept walking into the snow. "That's the **Collector**," she said. "The machines realized the power spike came from here. They’re sending a 'Maintenance Crew' to fix the leak."

"And if the price is too high? If the Shadow Witches demand something we can't give?" "Then we find another way." Dante wrapped his arms around her from behind. "We always find another way." But that night, Aria dreamed again. Not of Luna being pulled into light, but of four figures trapped in shadows, unable to escape.
