Mated to the Night Wolf
My eyes rested on Shade's shadow, her dark eyes, sad— watch me, a stray tear falls from the corner of her eye.
I realize that only her shadow had seen all this. She was not aware in her consciousness of the danger that was the slave girl.
I draw closer to her, and though I know that we can not touch in this form, I stand never her and rest my head against hers, as her eyes draw closed.
IT is nothing but air, but her shadow, though just a shadow, remains a piece of her, I can not overlook.
I take out a deep breath, eyes closing, savoring the moment.
