There was another rather long silence that followed until we got home. The drive stayed quiet until the tall iron gates of Shadowcrest came into view. They were huge and dark, with the mark of our pack carved across them, a crescent moon over a wolf’s shadow. As we got closer, the gates opened slowly on their own, like they knew who was coming. The driveway shimmered with rain, lined with torches that burned softly against the mist. The light bounced off the wet stones, showing the way to the mansion. On both sides, tall black pine trees stood like guards, their branches swaying under the storm.

But the end of what was unclear. I searched the abyss and found nothing. Fear overwhelmed me; images started to appear one by one. Cleo, Prue, work, mum, and the last was Damian. Each disappeared as if they were smoke. Whisps filled the air and dissipated one at a time until there was only one left. The whisp from Damian floated across to me. It morphed into a guiding light as the ticking became faster. Something deep inside felt the pull; I needed to follow it. Step by step, one foot in front of another, I followed his light. It led me to a door in the middle of the abyss. The door stood solid in front of me as the whisp passed through it and disappeared.

His sharp claws hit the big screen, breaking the lights and creating an explosion.

The Nightshade materialized before us, its towering form wreathed in darkness. Its eyes burned with an unnatural intensity, piercing through the gloom.
